For an extra US$20 I think it's worth the premium given the limited mintage and shinier design ;), but 2000 is still very low for a bullion coin so would be surprised if they don't both sell out.

I put up a post on SilverLunar.com a short time ago, so the coins details are about to hit the inbox of an additional several hundred lunar collectors. I wouldn't take too long decide for anyone thinking about picking up a few of these.

Done. All gone. 50 in no time. 250 in the hands of Europeans and Asians. And now there are 200 that will show themselvers somewhere, perhaps on eBay, and perhaps for a higher price? I tried to order the last one to make it a round 5. No go. One of Bullion's folks beat me. LOL.

Seems to be out of the proof, never mind, I am not a fan of goats or the lunar series either.

I think that this guy will realise that he is on to something due to the speed these have sold so I expect him to come back with something else, preferable not Chinese Lunar Calendar related, if they are any good I think I would prefer them.

Yep. You are right. Although I do like the style of this Lunar series. Very unique.

Wouldn't it be ironic if the BU ended up with a lower mintage than the proof?

I counted 30 buyers of the 50 proofs.

Though there are at least a couple of those which are repeat buyers.

Big round of applause for Luker, the OP of this thread!

    http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Dang

A variation of the ever-popular damn.
Used mostly by old people, as (according to them) damn is too harsh a swear word to be uttered.
Used to show great frustration or annoyance or to reinforce/exclaim a point.

Softer version of "damn". Similar to "darn". Used mostly by Southerners and Mormons.

I'd be surprised if all 2,000 weren't minted straight up, but given the popularity of this coin in the first few hours I'd be surprised if the BU doesn't sell out within days/weeks too.

This reminds me a lot of the initial interest in the Perth Mint Zeus coin, here's hoping for similar appreciation in their prices :)

Yeah, I suppose it wouldn't make sense for the mint to have to re-tool after an initial partial run. Then again, who knows if financing might play a role, causing the BU's to be done in installments.

Agree: 2K isn't much. And skulls are pretty hot.

Anyway, selling on the secondary market as a Proof/BU set would probably get more $$ for the BU portion, than for the BU, by itself. ;)
