Yennus, Fake? Sure is nice if real...just may get it if so, but...

I think the Panda is legit - but I can't find enough details to confirm which expo it belongs to.

The Shanghai Mint Co., Ltd. Foundry has made other Panda medals, like this.

I guess the better question to ask is, would you or did you buy one? LOL. That would say to me, yup, if Yennus did, then I can. LOL. I mean, I really, really love the medal, so I may just buy for that reason, and not worry about it going up in value or getting a grade...just marvel over the picture; and one day in the future marvel over that Great Wall picture with my newly adopted daughter from China. :-). So, I think I'm going to take the dive and buy a few, and not worry about it. If it is real silver, then I'm good with it. I just love everything about the coin.

More info from China. I just bought 3 of them...I'm rolling the dice, simply because there are only 1,000 of them.

And more info from china...

Hi,friend
if this medal not official , Shanghai mint will not authorize them to make the COA with Shanghai mint logo, and box with Shanghai mint Logo.
we can consider that Official but private pay the cost make them, PCGS will join this seminar....
MR.PETER anthony will write down this medal in his book next year,,,, he already take some pictures.

And more info, when is asked about expo. Not too clear? Or maybe he's referring to the one he's currently at.

Thanks for ur interest.
this expo is somekind of panda collectors sharing theiry collections, communicate different version, discover new version, and making friendship with different panda collector.
the most important is that Mintge is few and Official and beauty....

well, if P.Anthony lists the medal in his book - it doesn't matter if the medal is legit ))) - 1K mintage will fly on the market and then the medal will rise

Looks like I was wrong about the expo but at least the medal is genuine :D

If it's a different expo and the first one catered exclusively to Pandas then I believe the collectibility of the medal just rose :D

p.s. here's a very rough translation of the coa

I saw this coin quite some time ago on eBay. It took quite some time before first was sold. I didn't find any info about it and think there would be maybe more sellers soon. :)

Not sure Stark. At a 1000 for us and the Chinese, not a lot. 10,000 maybe. Good luck. I got 3, and looking to add one more. Hoping that guy selling the for 130.00 has more. :-)

well instead of this medal I decided to go for two 2002 pandas ... my favorite coin ... and there's no doubt where is comes from :)

to everybody else - good luck!

I am curious about this medal... Why it does not state the purity, ounce, and most importantly the year of release?

Good questions and observations...I've asked. :-)

Just got a response, although I'm sure it's probably not satisfactory. LOL. I have 3 and want one more, not at $208.00. LOL.

HI
pls see the BOX written AG999 1oz and attention box left side top is SHANGHAI MINT LOGO,registed! also check the COA written 99.9% ag 40mm, if it not real panda medal , i will be in big big trouble....Australia buyer just take one.

Well, I really like the great wall side of this medal. I guess it is very hard to see this medal to sell on ebay again at below USD130.

I saw first listing quite some time before this thread. Maybe the thread is helping them selling better. :) There were quite some watchers, but it took some time before it was sold out. Lately coin(s) is (are) sold very quickly. :)

I'll take one more at 130.00. Hope dragon has more for sale, otherwise it will 208.00, and I ain't doing that. :-)

It's on the COA...translation is a few posts up.

Hmm. I was interested in getting one but since there's some questions on its authenticity/source I would rather spend the money on pure pandas instead.

Indeed, this is a speculative play for me...hope it turns into a home run. :-)
