Yay just brought my first bit of silver!

I just backed up the truck and brought a whole 5 ounces of silver at $32 a coin! Yes that's right, FIVE TROY OUNCES.

Now before you go wild and ask why I payed such a high premium... I live in the UK and we have a 20% vat charge plus not including other costs, I'll most likely won't sell my silver until it reaches $64+. I'm 22 years old and don't even have a job but i'm thinking about my future (Hyper-inflation) and don't want to miss out on the opportunity of owning physical silver incase it go's to the moon, (by the time i can afford to make a big purchase the price of silver will have probably doubled). Please don't make fun of me I just brought what i could afford...

Even poor silver stackers find these lows exciting. :-)

Better late than never right?

Congrats! My first silver purchase cost me way more premium because I got into this when spot was $35/oz (in 2012) and I believed all the whacky perma-bulls who were screaming that it will only go up from there. So, trusting that loud and often obnoxious crowd, I bought then. Little did I know that these perma-bulls have no more knowledge about pm's after years of buying than I did my first week of consciousness about pm's.

I don't regret buying at that steep price....there's almost always a learning curve with investing, maybe particularly with commodities like metals.

Anyway, I digress...congrats on your purchase!

Hello and welcome, everyone has to start somewhere! I have been looking at purchasing some of these 1oz Noah's, they look cool and they are at a great price at the mo!

Woo!! Congrats!! I remember my first time.. I also Got 5 ounces
ASE's thou.. I also didn't have a job at time either. Almost exactly a year ago just before it took off to $35 and brought all the way up, then all the way back down.
You're timing sir, is impeccable. Hats off to you :)

Hi mmissinglink...if possible could you tell me which coin or bar you purchased? :)

Thanks

You've started at a nice discounted time compared to the last year+
Shame about those premiums.
Other than that welcome aboard, it's a crazy ride!

I figure its better to get in now even with the premiums we have to pay here then to own no silver at all. Paper will be worthless soon.

Looks like you have just finished reading Mike's book or something.
Quick quick get in now, it's your last chance before fiat is worth 0!

Lol I remember this thread "last buying opportunity". That's just funny the sense of urgency that gets created by all the doomers & gloomers & permabulls.
Don't get me wrong, no doubt I'm not a massive fan of fiat and the concept behind it, but saying is will be worthless soon, if foolish at best, dangerous financially at worse.

I do agree with you on something though: It is better to own some silver than none at all.

Well done SilverHunter and welcome to the forum,

Wish I had the foresight when I was 22yrs old, as well as being unemployed.
OK! Now the addiction has started to set in. RIGHT! You want more don't you.

To feed your addiction, you gotta get a job.
Any job. It doesn't matter.

One that can provide the fiat to swap for real money.
You have bought at a perfect time.

Have you seen Chipmonk's "Old Ted".

It is a 5oz Perth Mint Silver Bar that has more dents in it than the moon. :D
It is darn right ugly. Yet Chipmonk wouldn't give it away for anything.

The best part about stacking especially over the last 6mths is in another few months time with the same outlay of fiat you paid for the 5oz today, you will be able to buy twice as many for the same amount in a few more months!! Isn't that wonderful ! :D

Goodluck with the job hunting.
