Pm buzzes have always counted the whole time I've been a member as above not everyone wants to telegraph purchases.

Demanding will only make people want to trade with you less
 
Calm down, mate—buzz isn’t everything.

I had a situation here years ago where I buzzed something overnight, and clearly, no one else was around. After I paid, the seller messaged me half a day later saying someone had PMed him before me and that he’d “accidentally ignored the message,” then wrongly told me to pay. Can you believe that? I had no choice but to block him. He’s still active here, but I can’t see what he says since he’s blocked.

The same thing happened in a Facebook forum—identical argument. That seller also refused to sell to me, saying he “chose who he wanted,” and he was using a Vietnamese name. The mod in that group is also a member here, but obviously, they couldn’t do anything to make the guy honour the deal.

Anyway, moving on… life’s tough sometimes, but we can choose to make it easier.

Why would you want to keep a done deal private?

Buzz via PM has always been a thing and I do it most of the time.

A 'buzz pending...(insert whatever condition or question needs to be answered to solidify the buzz)' should be overruled by a full Buzz full stop.

A buzz via PM or on the read is the same and always has been or at least the last 10 years I've been here. First one gets it.
 
Had a similar problem a couple of years ago. Sold an item on a buzz then looked at my messages later only to discover a pm that preceded the buzz. I chose to sell to the buzzer but that was my choice. If I sell now I specify 'buzz in post only'. I understand that limits the buyer pool but stops all this shite
