WTB - Pre 46 Florins

If i get a chance i can have a look.... i have Junk silver just not sure how much is Pre Vs Post and if i can pick out Florins

Quick gauge of the room if I may.
Are florins not collected here, or just not letting go?
Just trying to work out if I should persist with my obsession with trying to get pre46 florins. TIA

Speaking from a personal perspective, yes I do still collect pre-florins, but most of the bulk bullion grade well-worn ones I have sold over the years and the
better grade stuff I won't sell for anywhere near the spot price.

Years ago it used to be easy to find bulk pre46 florins in even Fine grades at not much over the spot, now I see these single coins selling for up to 4 times spot prices
on places such as eBay.

As an example, I have a nice accumulation of 100 x 1925 Florins in Fine grade which I purchased for not much more than spot price many years ago, I see these grade coins now selling as singles for around the $30 mark on eBay.

Yes have noticed some crazy numbers for florins at Downies auctions
Inspired me to keep up the hunt
 
Good luck mate.

I still remember that I can pay spot+5-10% to buy these florins from members here easily (5 more years ago). I got quite a few Kgs and that's how I complete my AU Florin SET (Of course, 2-3 coins need to be purchased from a dealer).

Have bought a kg or so from the forum at spot about 12 months ago, so +10% would seem about right these days
They must be migrating away from “junk” and no one wants to let them go I guess
