With the depository account, do they hold them for you and then you go and pick them up?

You can arrange to pick them up. it's not straight forward and you need to give advance warning.
most of my silver is on depository and when the price really moves I'll arrange collection and sell privately as the mint sell prices are a good bit lower.

Are you looking for a private sale so they can't be traced or are you just looking to buy. if it's the latter then most of the bullion retailers/mints offer allocated or pooled silver which is probably the safer way to go. having 50 1kg bars approx in your house probably isn't a safe bet.
