World's largest value note - 1000 Swiss Francs

The 1000 Swiss franc note has a value of roughly A$1000. Would love to have 1 (or a bundle) for my personal collection.

Kind of makes a mockery of our pathetic $100 note. I guess our idiotic politicians will not create a higher value note because of the old chestnuts "counterfeiting", "laundering" etc.

Never mind that in another 10 years the $100 will have the purchasing power of $20.

Beyond plain stealing, politicians get a lot accomplished with inflation.

Moving tax brackets.
Lowering money laundering limits.
Raising capital gains.
...

You can quickly see how undesirable deflation would be to them.
 
That is a big note, is it being counterfeited at all?

I guess if you get one you check it pretty thoroughly.
 
In Spain, one of the nicknames for the 500 Banknote was Bin Laden; as everyone knows they are there and what they look like but they have never seen them.

Observation: If you type '500 Euro banknote' into Google, the top results will include US-centric MSM editorials on why the 500 note should be abolished.

Sorry, think that title goes to Singapore's 10,000 value note (roughtly 7850 AUD currently).

I haven't seen/held/owned one myself, but my friend who works in properties say he has dealt with clients preferring to pay in 10,000 bills.

Wow. Interesting info. I guess the Swiss note although not the most valuable, would be the most commonly used in circulation and easily obtainable from banks.

How hard is it to get the 10k Singapore notes? Do banks stock them or is a special order needed or even possible? Any idea on how many are issued per annum?

Yes, even more so with the UK media. They are very strongly against the 500 and want to get rid of it altogether. Imo it's all about control, a plan to get rid of cash altogether and going cash less.
