I was just about to post this link...

Bitcoins could even go to zero. They might as well go anywhere...

I even heard "predictions" of Bitcoin hitting 500,000 $.

It has no backing, it has no intrinsic value, but would have been a fantastic speculative asset. Until someone takes it from you, it's good... otherwise, it's rather unpredictable.

Then again: what if governments start banning Bitcoin usage/trading like Thailand, China... what if the US and the EU will follow?

Then, I guess almost no-one will ever want to waste their fiat money on cryptocurrencies... It might be fun trading, so long you can transform the cryptocurrencies into fiat money.
