Will a Grexit cause another GFC?

talking bout GFC ....

Talking about Greece, do you feel uncomfortable thinking about young Greek men competing in the ancient Olympic Games, their naked, toned bodies glittering with sweat in the sun?

Most Greek mens bodies can't glitter in the sun coz of too much bodily hair, even on their backs.

I once had a Greek friend who had more dense hair on his back then I could grow on my face.

It wont be the cause...it could be the spark that starts it but not the ultimate cause.
When I say could be...Im not placing bets on it.

Greece is threatening to sue the EU institutions and seek a court injunction to block the country's expulsion from the euro and stop a suffocation of the banking system.
"The Greek government will make use of all our legal rights," said Yanis Varoufakis, the finance minister.
"We are taking advice and will certainly consider an injunction at the European Court of Justice," he told The Daily Telegraph.
"The EU treaties make no provision for euro exit and we refuse to accept it. Our membership is not negotiable."

Greek officials said they were seriously considering suing the European Central Bank for freezing emergency liquidity for the Greek banks at 89bn.
It turned down a request from Athens for a 6bn increase to keep pace with deposit flight.
This effectively pulled the plug on the Greek banking system, in what the ruling Syriza party claimed was a breach of the ECB's legal duty to maintain financial stability. "How can they justify setting off a run on the Greek banking system?" asked one official.

This is gonna be a messy divorce.

It's just been leaked that the finance minister of Germany has said that Greece can still stay in the eurozone on a NO vote, which is counter to what most of the pro european union news media outlets keep saying

GREECE PROPOSES NEW TWO YEAR BAILOUT

The Greek government has proposed a new Two-Year bailout programme, according to news breaking in Athens.

This two-year programme would be supplied under the European Stability Mechanism and crucially would run alongside a debt restructuring. And it wouldn't include the International Monetary Fund.

In a statement from Alexis Tsipras's office, cited by Reuters, Greece says it is still at the negotiating table, and seeking "a viable solution, under the end, aimed at staying in the euro."

This could be a very significant development, depending on how creditors react. No word yet on how large this programme would be, though, let alone what conditions Greece is prepared to accept.

One important point -- this would not be an extension of the current bailout (which was made under the EFSF) but a whole new programmme. That means a discussion of debt relief would be an option.

I heard on CNBC that one government MP had seen plans for a switch to the drachma. Obviously they are trying to keep that very hush hush since it's not their first choice, but those plans are being worked on right now apparently.

GREECE PROPOSES NEW TWO YEAR KICKING OF THE CAN DOWN THE ROAD

I guess that would be a lifeline for anyone who hasn't already drained their bank accounts, allowing them to get their money out.

Zimbabwe had that luxury too and used it - how did that work out for them ?

Greek people do not longer have access to their deposit into vaults they rent on a bank.

O.k so its looking like google news is saying Greece may not come up with a new deal today (sunday)?

They may actually exit the Euro for at least five years some are saying.

I really hope this actually happens.

The Euro was never a good idea from day one!

I think there's a better chance of you finding steady fulltime employment before the Greek saga finally comes to a conclusion
