Why the elimination of cash is a good thing for society

As we progress slowly towards the elimination of physical cash and move towards a system purely based on electronic transactions, I thought I'd point out all the positives for society.

1) Govenment controlled spending. Just like the government now controls what information we have access to through various Internet filtering and blacklist policies, they can also ensure we don't spend our money inappropriately by blocking electronic transactions for bad things that they will define (possibly under the wise council of special interest lobbyists and incumbunt corporations).

2) Laws against illegal transactions. Just like the government now has laws to prosecute and jail journalists who would have the dangerous audacity to report on certain government activities that the government would prefer to remain hidden, they will also introduce laws to prosecute and jail people who advise on how to bypass government spending controls and upper limits.

3) Protection from dangerous people. Anyone who the government deems innapropriate or dangerous (e.g. opposition party members who look to become too popular by spreading dangerous idea to the citizenry) will have their access to funds frozen, essentially declaring them persona non grata. They will not be able to function within society and, of course, if they then turn to illegal activities to get food, they can be jailed. This will provide a chilling effect for anyone thinking of spreading dangerous ideas.

4) Emergency budget measures will become easier to fund by locking down accounts for a period of time so the money can be better spent on emergency government programs that have exceeded their budgets and exhausted taxpayer funds.

...

Ok, that should silence the critics. And just remember, thanks to data retention laws (and government agencies that already collect all electronic data), anything you say here may come back to haunt you. So remember, be good citizens.

I can't wait to give up all my financial privacy. Imagine how much safer I'll feel knowing that I'm not a terrorist.

5) New laws will allow governments to make involuntary euthanasia mandatory for all non productive members of society. Thanks to tracking these (you) undesirables will be able to be tracked and within 24 hours kindly relieved of breathing. The population will become acclimatised to this practice as speaking out against it will result in their participation in the program. The program shall be called "organic human reclamation".

6) If anyone follows the wrong religion especially Christians who label the new chip and tracking as "the mark of the beast" will be added to the organic human reclamation program or anyone following anything/one that speaks out against any part of our plans.

It should save the Health service a fortune.

If you go to your doctor with a health complaint they will be able to look up the amount of money you have spent on healthy living, (fresh food, gym membership, health insurance, nutritional supplements etc.) and compare that with the money you have spent on unhealthy lifestyle decisions, (junk food, booze, cigarettes, bungy jumping etc.) and use that to decide how much of the hospital bill you will be eligible to pay for. The healthier your lifestyle the less you pay.

And it will be able to cut you off at the POKIES as well, help those with gambling problems get the help they need, once you cross a certain ratio of food to gambling it cuts you off. And rate limits the amount of money you can spend in a day so you can't blow it all on payday.

And who decides what "healthy" is? I'm sure corporations will make those decisions.

It's for your own good!

I for one welcome our new fiscal overlords.

Flense the unbelievers with the righteous scalpel of EFTPOS in the mailed fist of capital controls!

The elimination of cash (paper notes and nickel-copper coinage) would be beneficial for society:

1. Would entice people to convert there digital units into precious metals - back to where society operated prior to the invention of cash by the bankers as mere tokens of real money.
2. Transactions would be wholly and solely in the private between the people.
3. Government and corporations would use there digital units for there purpose - as a measure of Public account.
4. Increased demand for precious metal coinage may increase the value of those holders of natural money.
5. Society would because of increased financial privacy and liberty thereof, flourish with the reduction of capital controls as per history has shown.
6. Isolate and give clarity to the distinct difference between the Public and Private, reducing confusion with certainty by the division of functions between each realm
7. The mint then no longer operate printing government issued notes and coinage saving society the cost of running those operations.
8. Natural money would be determined by the fineness and number of ounces contained in the money
9. The natural money is already recognised internationally for its capital value with no counter party risk
10. People would store there capital in a compact manner enabling them to operate there own central bank
11. With the people as the holders of the real capital in society, the government may wish to borrow our money for there purpose at interest for the benefit to enrich the people who they serve
12. Institutions such as the reserve bank would not operate to set interest rates and they are not the holders of the nations capital. The market would determine the going rate
