Why Kooks is more popular than Koala

Even "in the flesh" Kooks look better than koalas. Koalas are very awkward-looking critters and about the only thing they have going for them is their ears. Kooks are stately-looking, well-poised fellows.

Apparently they are also good-eating and their fur proved very useful.
 
I don't know why but I love the dots around the edge of the kooks. Particularly on the bigger coins.
