Why do you stack?

I have always treated metal purely as wealth preservation, I like to keep 10-15% of my capital in metal. But the stack continually grows no matter what as my capital grows through economic cycles. Unfortunatly with governmint's interfering with the market's it is really stirring the pot.

I get the impression that alot of people are stacking metal today because they see potential wealth gains from current tyranny and some people saying that the only way is up.

Stackers thoughts?

I stack because I'm extremely rich and when I'm not driving my Ferrari or dating super models I get extremely bored so I buy PMs.

Life is so hard sometimes I wonder how I get through the day. :)

My doctor suggested stacking as my previous hobby of screaming at pidgeons in the mall (for mocking me) was the cause of my sore throat.

It's been quite good advice so far, but those chewing gum stains on the footpath out front are really in need of a good yelling at

I have Zero faith in Superannuation sustaining me when I retire, and it is kind of fun to put all those coins on the floor and roll around in them.(Real money).

Coming from a family where there is no real stored wealth I feel this is a great oportunity for me to start preserving wealth, no matter how small a start. And hopefully create something that can be kept in the family, and perhaps if fortunate enough, an increased standard of living.

My primary influence is the idea of 'cycles' investing with which I was introduced through Mike Maloney's book.

Am I seriously the first guy to admit i'm in it for profit?
NO !!! Im with you .Profit is my main driver for spending any serious amount of money except neccessities

Consider $1000 in the bank @ circa 5% for a whole year vs $1000 in AU over the last 4 months, is up circa 19%.

Because, I firmly believe in the not so distant future, the S will HTF. In a big way.

So, I set out to stack some silver against that day. Then I found these forums, and...

(1) You all corrupted me and I am now buying some gold (preservation of wealth, whilst I believe silver will do that too, it's nice to mix it up a bit, and not have all the eggs in one basket so to speak)
(2) You all corrupted me and I have bought "non core stack" stuff in the form of Pandas and Philharmonics and some numismatic items
(3) You all corrupted me and I am drooling for Steve to get some Combibars in stock, cause they look fun

Joking on the "corruption" bit, of course... these influences are due to the forum, have made the stacking much more fun and interesting, and, ultimately, more secure. Thanks to all in the community for sharing your knowledge, ideas and expertise as I continue to stack...
