I think your misuderstanding silversearcher is that you thought that every post I made was somehow official, hence you make indignant responses like this http://forums.silverstackers.com/message-884794.html#p884794 while ignoring the disclaimer on my posts that they were personal. The "no way" was an initial reaction and not some official statement the Mint wasn't taking any responsibility and refuse to replace the coins. As I said after others commented http://forums.silverstackers.com/message-884481.html#p884481 I was suprised this stuff would get through.

Your comment that I'm my own man now is basically a comment that I have no integrity and would lie under instruction or of my own accord. If that is so then logically you shouldn't believe what I say now. The fact that you seem to think it is OK that I would "toe the company line" but now don't have to says a lot about your own eithics, or cynicism.

Everything I've said in either personal or official capacity I have believed. The Perth Mint exercised no editorial control over any of my personal or official writings - there was no "breathing down his neck and scrutinising everything he says or does" - I published everything under my own authority and without first checking with anyone else in the Mint. You may find that suprising, indeed some in the industry have said they were suprised at the freedom/latitude I had, but that is how it worked.

In retrospect it was a mistake to get involved in any discussions about coins. I don't buy them myself, never worked in that part of the Mint, had no responsbility over their production, was not in contact with dealers every day - should have told Ron Currie to find a spokesperson to deal with those posts rather then making the decision to step in and turning myself into a general spokesperson rather than sticking to investment topics.

You can read into it what you wish about being your own man. At the end of the day you partook in a company that sold millions of impaired coins to unsuspecting people. These people believed and had faith that The Perth Mint had sold them a quality product. Whether it was from upper level management, you, Ron Currie or the guy sorting the coins, you all knew about the problem. Yet, any attempt (if any) to resolve the problem has remained the same.

Did you, or any other employee of The Perth Mint stand up and say this in not right ? As someone who was commenting in a unofficial capacity on the forum or your own blog, did you ever stand up for those who bought these impaired coins or have empathy for them ? You watched and commented on this forum for years, and never once defended a frustrated stacker ( that I'm aware of ). You say you never bought coins, and yet you would comment on them ? How the heck would you know as a collector or a investor what it feels like to open roll upon roll of 2011 Kooks to find them all milky ? I know what it feels like ! And thousands of others have felt the same. And you call me out on ethics, that's rich. You never were a stacker or are a collector the entire time you worked at the Perth Mint and yet you comment ? I find this so hypocritical.

I have stood up for years in this forum and other platforms over the injustice that the bullion industry have placed upon stackers. And yet, so many within industry think it's OK, and it's business as usual. I cannot and will not agree with this type of business mentality. In the meanwhile, I will not brown nose or kiss ass with any Perth Mint representative or those who knowingly continue to sell such products. I will continue stick up for the consumer, and a worthy product. And I will continue to refrain from any Perth Mint product that has the possibility to be impaired in the future, until things change. And I hope others do the same.

I don't blame you personally, but you were part of a team that continued to turn a blind eye to what has effected so many peoples investment. Could you have really made a change ? Who knows. Coming on this forum getting involved in Perth Mints product has made you a target on this forum and other platforms. I wish you would have stuck up for those who needed it the most - The consumer. I did !!!!! At the end of the day we are the bread and butter of those who work in the minting section of The Perth Mint and those who sell your product.

P.S - My son has just read this post. And he just gave me the BIG THUMBS UP and a slap on the back. And that makes me very happy. What others think of me I don't give a rats.

Speaking of which... What do you hold? Now you can tell us. Only gold or 50% silver as per your analysis posted in the past? And in what form?

I'm sure I've mentioned this before, working at the Mint does not stop you from saying how you invest. As our nanny state forces me to put money into super, I pushed for our super fund (spectrum, now part of IOOF) to add PMGOLD to the list of shares you can invest in directly and that is where my gold is.

I'm not reading "what I wish", it is simple logic - you said "you are your own man NOW" which means I wasn't when I was at the Mint, which means I was compromising myself and lying to "defend" them. If that is what you believe fine, doesn't bother me, what I find interesting is that you then don't have any problem saying to people "can now read his articles without any bias attached" from someone you think lacks integrity to stand up for what is right. I don't think there is any other way to read what you said.

So what are you saying here, that everyone including the cleaner should resign from their jobs over something that they have no control or responsibility over? I'm glad you can run your own business but not everyone can do that and I'd be surprised if there was any company that did not treat customers shabbly at some point.

I can't speak for others but I did, yes. Were there any responses from the Mint before I picked up the issue on this forum and managed to come back with some sort of response(s)?

You expect public defending, rather than private/internal? Fine for you to make a public stink, but I'm guessing you never worked in a large corporation as those who have would realise that making a public stink wouldn't help your political capital internall in effecting change.

One does not have to be a collector or investor in coins to appreciate what it feels like and the anger at not getting what you paid for. My comments were about providing information on the issues and challenges involved in making the coins and other explanations. Not knowing "what it feels like" has no bearing on that and I fail to see the hypocrisy as I never represented that I owned coins.

I haven't seen better tap dancing since "Star Search" 1987 !

That last comment about " One does not have to be a collector or investor ", that's utter BS ( for readers benefit this is not a abbreviation of ones name ). A collector or a investor can see through that non plausible response . Just a case of a ex- Perth Mint Representative coming in to smooth things over.

You missed your calling as newspaper editor or journalist Bron ! Always convenient to use snippets to express a response . I prefer to use the entire quote, as it gives a reader a fairer perspective. You did deliberately avoid quoting parts where I was diplomatic. But, all in all a fair call on most other comments, except one !

As for you harping on about " you are your own man now ", I was eluding more to the fact of "Self Employment" or being your own boss. Which I believe that is what you are attempting ? Something I have been successful with for over 20 years. You may have a change of heart about that statement after long stint in your own business. As you will find answering for your actions is irrelevant except to customers or for illegal activity. But, you can continue to tell others about your " logic " if you wish. As opinions are like assholes...everyone has one.

I'm sure I will see you continue trolling in my posts from time to time Bron. Just like the good old days when you were a Perth Mint representative ( in a unofficial capacity of course...cough cough ), you always took the time to leave a comment, even to posts that weren't relevant to you. And I will always have the time to respond.

Take Care....Silversearcher out.

Writing about someone without mentioning their name, belittling their achievements and roles to goad them into responding is very troll like behaviour silversearcher. Why don't you find something better to do with your time than start threads obviously designed to try and pick a fight?

If you have genuine questions for the Perth Mint I would recommend directing them here: [email protected]

They have always been prompt with replies to my questions, concerns and feedback. Let us know what they have to say about the issues you raise.

So who is the new person in charge of "Analysis and Strategy " at Perth Mint ? Now that the previous person is Vice President of a blog site, and Company Secretary of another site of seemingly little importance.

That's your last personal attack / troll post on this forum silversearcher. Next time you make a post like this it's a permanent ban. No further warnings will be given.
