* Cheap (Could still fall farther)
* Above average marketcap for a new alt coin (has been falling since released)
* Decent trading volume (This is one thing I watch for that it does have!)
* Proof of Stake like Blackcoin

BUT...

* Nothing original ( Copied and pasted from Blackcoin, code wasn't changed enough so you can't run both wallets on the same machine)

Whitecoin has a single Dev that doesn't seem to be that active and copied the source from Blackcoin. If anything goes wrong, not sure I have faith in the developer to fix it. Seems to be trying to capitalize on Blackcoin success without the experienced team behind it and with 3.3 times as many coins as Black coin in comparable stage (when Black coin came out of POW it tanked to 500 sat, 500/3.3 =152 SAT) BC took months of building to reach the 10k level (with white coins market cap the equivalent would be just over 3k) so to me it has further to drop compared to possible gains.

However, I would still watch the development of the coin closely like other POS copies and if they can successfully build the infrastructure I might take another look. Never know though could also get pumped and dumped as a lot of people who missed out on BC might have taken a punt mining whitecoin.

nrs seems to be the next big hit coin. whitecoin smells too much like catcoin to the doge.

I wouldn't concern yourself primarily with the infrastructure or the technicals.
Speculation is what drives the alt coin market, so you need to look at this as potential to attract speculators.
This might change in a year or two when things mature, but at the moment, "attractiveness" is where it is.

40% jump in price in the last day.
Marketcap close to 2 million and trading volum only behind BTC, LTC, DOGE and BC.

I'm in with a few BTC.

damn should have listened to you, hope im not to late to catch it now.

Well whitecoin seems to have dropped back down

but what's up with dark coin ?

how many shades of black and white coins are there ???

Most alts seem to be a little flat over the past few days. Even LTC has dropped back under $10.
Dark coin is definitely one this board missed, but its initial rise happened before Black Coin.

And AsiaCoin now has large volume (on Cryptsy at least)

Pumps all over the place

Asiacoin was always on my radar, but I didn't want to invest in something that only had a $300,000 market cap. Now it's over a million.

Asiacoin has just been outed as a scam. The developer had premined 3 BILLION of them before releasing the client, with documentation stating that there would only ever be 360 million. A 51% attack has also just occurred - pretty much every exchange has dumped it like a hot potato. Heaps of people left holding the bag with worthless coins.

There are many alt coins that pop up on a weekly basis. Nearly every single one is just pump and dump scam coin to benefit creators. A good rule of thumb is to just avoid all newer premined and instamined coins.
