Which 1 oz Kooks are hard to get?

I'm trying to remember.
So most valued and hard to get is not necessarily those years that have low mintage, the 2008 reached fulled mintage of 300,000 yet I believe is the most prized.
Is 2009 one of the goodies?
I have to split up some Kooks with family member and I think there is one roll of a hard to get year but can't remember which

2008 are most expensive, then 2009 I believe
I also think the 1990's have a bigger premium than most other years.

2006, 2004 (lowest) and I think 2002.

84,000 2002
87,000. 2006
91,000 2004
103,000. 1998
104,000. 2000

But scarcity after mintage completion does not necessarily bring best premium

E.g. 2008, which has been prized, but was sold out at mintage declared 300,000

08 is a hype, nothing else.check prices for 09 on ebay.some listed for $35 and no one is jumping for them.

1990 should be the winner as how do you how many have survived? could be less than 10k? who knows...

yes.I remember couple of years ago I had a hard time to sell here on the forum a roll of '08. I wont even say how cheap it went.after that about 6 months started to pick up. the only explanation for that is '08 was the first year the sell-out completely.GS might sell them for around $100 but here on the forum you would be lucky to get $50-55,maybe $60.

so yes I still say its a hype(I know VRS would stand beside me:). some people only like them because others do and they feel "obliged" if you understand where Im going....

look at the 1990 1oz kook.the mint used the same design in this year because that was the first coin and was sold out(successful). when they are planning to do that with the '08 kook? and also with the 10oz and kg '08 kook-high mintage but collectors hold on to it because of the hype of the 1oz '08 coin.-have you seen an '03,'04 or '05 10oz for sale anywhere?

Perhaps difficult to use the 2008 in the same way as the 1990...1990 was for 25 anniversary but...I suppose they could use some of the features of the 2008 coin in their 2016 release. I think they are. :)

1oz, 2oz, 10oz and kilo 2008 Kookaburras have very good prices and...I think it's because of the design.

I think folk can relate to the coin for three reasons:

*Barbed Wire

*Spider Web

*Frosting

I reckon there's plenty of Aussie folk who can look at the coin and relate to a frosty / foggy morning walking the fence line and seeing spider-webs glowing in the early morning sun and of course, the endless chatter of Kooks in the morning.

As a side note, don't forget the 2008 design Kook with 2009 date stamp that was only available in the 20 coin set, they also bring good prices and are trending higher (Only 8,598 struck)

Edit

Perth, bring back the 2oz Kookaburra. ;)

Holdfast

Being a avid kook nutter stacker I totally endorse your call to bring back the 2oz Kook

What would it take to twist Perth Mint's arm and get these reinstated

How many stackers would support a petition to the mint ?

I only started buying siver 6 months ago and the PM coin that took my fancy the most out of all coins was the 2008 kook even before I started to notice different premiums,I think Holdfast is correct and 2008 would sell to an Aussie even if a non collector or stacker before the rest.

to collect the whole series the mint needs to go back to 2010...how would that work out?how many would they mint and how long each year?
