That's your fault for buying high, go in blindly and you will get hurt.

geez people, silver is much higher now than it was a year ago and most probably a year from now it will be higher too. People have to understand that silver like any investment goes up and down in the short term but if you know where it is going in the long term (fundamentally) then all this short term movement is just noise.

Disagree - not noise but actually a great buying opportunity :D

I went in at the high $40 mark and spend over 20k
Now I'm buying at today's prices, it's all good my lesson was learnt now I'm gearing up for the next episode of the days of our lives as a Silverstacker.

I remember reading a post on some random American forum in 2008/2009 when I was umm-ing and ahh-ing about whether to buy silver. It went something like this:

"Man, I bought silver at $16 and now it's $13. What a shit investment. Silver is never going to go anywhere".

The rule has always been cost average for a period of time (maybe every month) but leave a little for buying opportunities like this.

That is where you went wrong! Never put ALL your savings into PMs!
Personally I have enough cash to cover ongoing expenses etc. I'm ABSOLUTELY sure at least about my currency (rouble) that it will fail in future.
Yours (AUD) is MUCH stronger, though. It's greatly undervalued.

Yes same here i expected it to continue falling, I wonder if we'll start to go up Monday...

no disrespect to the newbies but I personally think that you all need to evaluate why you are holding silver in the first place.. have a plan and stick to it.
