When you trade out of precious metals

I'm selling 100% of it eventually.

There's heaps more cool stuff in this world than coins with images printed on them.

Like what? Cool fiat notes with images printed on them?

Porsche's perhaps?

Will unload my larger items like 10oz & 20oz silver bars, the 1oz and 1/4oz gold coins and the 5,10 & 20oz silver coins when i liquidate to buy some land later this year or early next year depending on how the market goes. Will keep the 1oz silvers and junk silvers for later use.

I liked reading this i must ba a little weird. I budget my income fairly well and buy bullion with my investment part.

With my luxury money I buy whatever I want ( and some of that includes overpriced collectors silver).

The investment stuff will go when i feel i need that stored wealth to buy whatever I need my wealth to buy me.

The collectors stuff will never be sold, whats the point of collecting something if i did.

For example i bought an overpriced gem stome 1 kg lunar dragon. I think its pretty (however its a mug ugly coin) with my colectors money (only took me 8 months to save for it).

I would not buy that with my investment money, however i would buy 10, 20, 50 or 100 oz at as close to spot as I could.

am i emotionally attached to some of my collection, well yes i get a thrill looking at completed sets and some of these things are very well crafted.

Do i get emotionally attached to my bullion? erm no not really unless you try to steal it.

I think this thread is a good example for people needing to identify a core stack and a trading one within their holdings and also to purchase accordingly and rationalize.

Spending X amount on an unresearched collectable just because you like the look of it when X amount could buy you twice or even three times the amount in weight of well respected plain old perth mint can often come back to bite you.

So I was thinking today. When I hand over all I have accumulated for what ever is undervalued at that time, I don't think I could part with 100%. I think I will be keeping a few coins etc forever, as a bit of a memory of the cycle we are in.

What would you keep?

I don't think I could part with my gilded 2008 kookaburra

Keep whatever does not sell & make lemonade.
Even my brass or copper will rise eventually, Xi-Shi with pearl etc.
Bullion turned numi favourites to keep by choice would likely be a few US gold which were gifts to my dad. I wish they were 1933G Double Eagles but happy they are once considered common WarBonnet $10 Liberty's & some cute & humble silver panda's.
