when is pm they releasing the 1/2 oz silver dragon proof?

not the baby one or the color one. just plain silver? + where did this baby dragon coin series come from. it must of only started this year as they didnt have any baby 1/2 oz rabbit last year?
 
It was a special coin commissioned by a Russian for his daughters birthday (I think it was for his daughters birthday party, like a gift to give out instead of a lolly bag - this is the coin we saw a picture of at the first stackers meet in Perth). It is a Tuvalu coin and not part of the Lunar Series.

I'm not sure if they actually release the 1/2oz by itself - I thought the 1/2 and 2oz proofs are only available as part of the 3 coin set, which is what makes that set so good. I'm not 100% sure on this though
 
Consider that the information that you wrote has errors.

The coin is part of the series II coin issue.

The coin is Australian legal tender.

The certificate of authenticity for this coin says: (Precis)

"This certificate accompanies a 1/2oz coin from the Australian Lunar Series II - 2012 Year Of The Dragon struck by The Perth Mint from 99.9% pure silver in proof quality. The coin is issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965.

No more than 4,000 of these coins will be released by The Perth Mint.

Is there a process for the Perth Mint to do special commissions?
Could be an awesome company present to clients.
 
Sorry Holdfast, but will have to disagree with you a bit. This baby dragon is not Australian legal tender. It is however legal tender in Touvalu made in Australia under the Australian Currency Act 1965. You couldn't take it into the bank and demand it's face value.
I don't doubt what the COA says, but to me it's not part of the lunar 2 series. It's not stamped as Australian legal tender, the design is different to the series as a whole, there's no complete set to collect - no ox, tiger etc, it doesn't have the offical 'lunar series II' logos etc on the packaging.
Not knocking the coin, I personally dont like it but each to their own. They a bit like the lunar rectangle dragon and mouse, they're Cook Islands legal tender, part of the overall lunar theme, but not really part of the core series.

The Endangered and Extinct series was commissioned by Downies and the Working Dogs series was commissioned by Coin Club. I'm sure there are many more
