what's the consensus on a trade - eagles and libertads

Huh, I'd go for the Eagles for the wider recognition and potentially higher liquidity.

Not dissing the Libertad, but not everyone wants to stack them. If they're on offer at the same price though, this thread would indicate that there's a market for them here.

Eagles for me too.

When shtf and you want to trade a Liberwhatever, an ASE will certainly be more easily recognised by sheeple.

I would go for the libertads, because they are nice and have much better price on APMEX, specially on older years.
Actually APMEX buy back price on 2010 libertad is higher than the selling price of the eagle.

ASE vs Libertad, no contest!
Alright, I cheated a little by posting a proof coin :P

I like both and stack both.
Occasionally the market price of Libs gets ahead of the ASE but that tends to be temporary. The bullion values are the same so depends on to whom you will eventually sell. Yes the Lib is a fantastic looking coin with great detail but the ASE is much more popular and better known. ASE are in plastic tubes of 20, Libs in
a paper roll.

Libs for me too, I have both though but libs make for better trades, nicer gifts and look more interesting.

Question for you libertad buyers. When you get a roll of them in the paper do you immeadiately open the roll and put them in hard cases or leave them as is?

I'm not getting them to stack but to sell and keep a couple for my collection. They're more interesting so I think they might have better selling potential in New Zealand. Thanks for everyone's input. I definitely agree that eagles would be much better for shtf. But then again back home is only 100 miles from Mexico so you never know.

I ended up trading one tube of eagles for one tube of libertads. I'm quite happy with the deal. I noticed they're a little pricier on Apmex. May keep them longer before selling.

Lovey80, tube I traded for was already open and I'll probably just keep them there until they go.
