Whats on these eagles?

I picked up a roll of eagles. What is this stuff on the edge of them. It Seems like some parts are really shiny. These came from a us mint container. 2015.
 
Some sort of abrasion, maybe? First time I see that stuff. Is that tube coming straight from an unopened monster box?
 
yea. I know its not toning.I will try take a better picture.It seems like some of the lines are really shiny unlike the rest of them that are the regular silver color of the coin.

That's strange - please do! And answer the above question about it coming from an unopened tube... Interesting indeed
 
yea everything else is fine.weight is good,shape, exc. it seems to me like some of the reeded edge had shiny spots on them.almost they been nicked. All 20 are like this in the tube.
 
There's no way that they've become that way in the tube. And I doubt that they came out that way from the mint as they quality check each tube individually.

would you take it back in his position? I would not think so.Its an ASE so I would not be bothered that much.
 
If you pay full price dont you think you should get 20 mint coins- what you payed for. A ounce is a ounce is true when selling. But when im buying new minted coins and paying a premium i want what i payed for.
 
Bullion doesn't mean rubbish. The dealer can always complain with his source (hopefully the mint itself), or sell the coins for what they are worth - generic rounds if he can, or melt value -. If the dealer cares about his customers he won't have problems replacing the tube.

What did you pay over spot and what really were you paying that premium for? with encapsulated coins you would expect better or why would a mint bother to encapsulate bullion coins.

When you see these coins fall off the conveyor into a big tub full of already dropped coins then its a wonder most are as unmarked as they are,this is the reason graded bullion eagles are worth much more .
 
It is not normaal for me as i see this.Never seen this on bullion coins fresh from a tube.
It is normal to have a few carvings on the coin but i don't like this.I would bring them back and take a new tube.
 
geesh louise, these are eagles we're talking about. A pure bullion coin like the maples, like the Philharmonics, like all the rest of the cheap bullion that are designed to collect white spots, and have issues. If you want 'designer bullion,' then go with the kook, lunar or koala...BUT, in fact we've seen that the quality on these is going out the window.

I'm a little suprised that eBay has the 2015 roll of 20 kooks going for about the same prices as eagles. that's what I'm buying.

Probably because Eagle premiums are at their peak currently.
