What's behind the unexpectedly high physical silver demand recently?

Perth Mint's response: http://www.perthmintbullion.com/au/blog/blog/15-01-05/Perth_Mint_Tackles_Milk_Spot_Issue.aspx

I understand how this could have been a problem at Perth, the U.S. mint, and others, some detergent stain during manufacturing or whatever, but the obvious question is why does it CONTINUE to be a problem ? They can put a probe around Ceres and land some crap on a comet but they can't figure out where these white spots are coming from and make it stop happening ? People making rounds seem to have figured it out, they just don't do whatever crazy stuff the "better" mints are doing. Just get a round piece of silver and stamp a freaking animal on it already.

Hi guys,

Precious metals have been among st the worst performing investments this year. Both gold and silver prices seem to have landed in a downward spiral. The question: will silver prices rebound as we step into the New Year or just continue hitting new bottoms? In times like these, it's always good to take advice from an expert.Unlike gold, whose use is pretty much restricted to jewelry and gold-ware, silver's extensive industrial and medicinal use is of worthwhile nature
