Whats a good gold /silver ratio?

Not to hijack the thread, and I stand to be corrected, but I am sure there was no biblical story of 5 blind men and an elephant.

That's exactly what I did :D - saved up some money - went in and bought a 1 KG bar - then left it for a few months till my next purchase - then moved onto coins as often as a I could buying here and there.....
