What were prices in 1966

That was obviously a promo video made to entice English migrants, right?
Not going to be a very realistic represenation.

So casserole steak was 50c per pound (prices were still per pound even in the 70s) = $1.00 per kilo.
Average wage was $57 per week in 1966.

Ave wage is now somewhere round $2,000 per week.
So that same casserole steak in today's dollars would be $35 per kilo.
Casserole steak is less than $20 per kilo today.

So meat was much more expensive back in 1966.

Houses were cheaper though, for those who could get a loan, only based on husband's income.
