What Satifies You More, Gold or Silver?

I have been stacking silver for 6 months and have 40 oz. Now I would like to buy my first ounce of gold. I am having trouble getting past the thought that I get 1 gold coin for $1600 CAD whereas silver gets me about 70 coins. They are both worth the same but the eye candy just isn't there with gold. Its the thought of big pile vs little pile. I compare it to going to an All You Can Eat Buffet vs going to one of those fancy places and getting a 4 oz steak with a few veggies artistically laid out on the plate. I always go for the buffet. Does anybody else have a hard time with this? Which one gives you more satisfaction, Gold or Silver?

Both gives me great satisfaction
But my gold is easier to sell, as there is only 1 coin
With silver you get more coins,
but there is maybe harder to find a buyer who takes 70oz silver and pay the premium you need
I have just started my gold collection my self, so i love them both

Wow man I'm opposite don't get me wrong I like silver but to me gold is a better investment

I feel that silver is for boys and gold is for men

Although silver is more volatile which could mean it will increase more

Like I said I feel gold is the real deal

Gold wins every time if you take away the fact that silver probably has better future profit potential right now due to the high gold/silver ratio.

I would opine that 90% of "stackers" would prefer gold (if gold and silver cost the same) if you did a test where each person held a few large gold coins in their hand, then do the test with silver coins. Due to gold's properties it feels very heavy even in smaller coins relative to non gold coins. Plus the "shine" or color of gold (or whatever you call it) is much more appealing than silver. Same if you compare gold to Pt or Pd (even though they are "heavy" too, but no pretty "shine"). Seems something in our DNA makes us drawn to gold (jewelry, coins, etc), as it has over the past couple thousands of years.

Funny, I know gold is for kings and silver for the little people. I like the way silver shines and shows details on a coin much more than gold, although gold is the better thing to hold no question. Just ask the central banks which they prefer to hold as real money. lol. But that's because they don't buy up all the supply by spending billions. If they spent billions on silver, there would be none left for industry and us little guys. But if both had the same rarity, I personally prefer silver coins. That's just me. And the close to 80:1 motivates me to stay in silver. I have funds in an allocated account. They offer both silver and gold. Right now all my eggs are in one basket...silver. When the ratio gets to 30:1, I cash out of the silver allocated and move to gold. Simple. :-). I agree, trying to sell 70 pieces or 30 pieces of physical is time consuming. But with an allocated account, a lot easier. :-))

Which one gives you more satisfaction, Gold or Silver?

Neither.

If you buy precious-metal, perhaps do it for a financial objective.

At the moment, the GSR may suggest that silver is a better investment but...it depends on what you buy and your short, medium and long-term objectives.

Depends what form (old/modern, the design, high relief/low relief, the finish, etc, etc, etc) and what quantity it's in.

There are a number of things I like better about silver including (but certainly not limited to) the fact that I can have many more very awesome coins and medals (old and new) made of silver that are just not available in gold or not in my budget if it comes in gold at all.

I like polished silver....it's shiny.

Silver is my favorite but Gold is nice as well, would never recommend having no gold, but for me when it comes to 'Satisfaction' then it's stacking Bitcoin all the way. Dunno why, just an addictive concept I guess?

Too bad the Royal Canadian Mint doesn't make a coin with both silver and gold similar to the Two dollar coin. That would satisfy me perfectly.

If your after quantity then stack some iron ore, u get 26 tonnes for the price of 1 ounce of gold

Apparently you forgot how to read. The question was specifically silver or gold.

But they do make gold and silver coins, two series in fact (examples of each series below):

Yes nice coins but only gold plated. I'm thinking bullion grade 1 oz 9999 silver on the outside and 1/4 oz 999 gold in centre. Nice looking (IMO), affordable, and if needed just pop out the gold coin out of the centre. Hmmm...... The mint is just 10 minutes away from me. I should pop by and give them some design ideas. While I'm at it I could fix their milk spotting issues with my chemistry background.

This.

Apples & oranges, oftentimes.

I'm struggling with this issue as we speak: Enough PM money at the moment for either some 2016 fractional gold, or an old slabbed Ag numi.

Actually leaning towards the latter, as the former should be readily available for the next 12 months, at a minimum.. But this particular Ag numi won't.
