No real idea what the average is, though I suspect with a few hours work, a couple of guesstimates, and some digging through papers, I could probably figure it out, at least to within a dollar or so. I've traded a bit of stuff around in my time
I can say I started buying around $9-ish an ounce and clearly remember buying a 1Kg Kook for $416. To some here, that makes me a newbie, and to others here, that's "Like, you're an ancient stacker, man!".
I have stopped counting my stack in dollars... I figure they won't be around much longer, and I sat down some time ago and did a few days/couple weeks worth of reading and absorbing and understanding. Actually, Mike Maloney over at
www.hiddensecretsofmoney.com has 2 videos that really are worthwhile watching if it's hard for those newer to the game to grasp the real meaning of money and what it is compared to currency (hint: money's here to stay, currency is busy making sure the door doesn't hit it on the @$$ on the way out).
I value my stack in ounces of gold, and ounces of silver, and fully expect to never swap it for any fiat currency
