What is this yellow dot?

I got this second hand it's got yellow dot top left, I haven't opened up the capsule yet but it's on the bar as it moves when I tap it.
We are not supposed to clean it but looks a bit ugly.
Should I just open up and clean it or is that a no no?

Looks like a bit of tarnish yea. Put it in some hot water with foil and bicarb soda and salt, might clean it up a bit. Certainly wont hurt it, its a bullion bar. Not proof or anything.
