Were to you wise to 'invest' in this type of Sovereign / gold ?????

Something to think over .....

Yes, I still think they are a wise investment so long as the initial premium isnt too high, because they are only going to get rarer as time goes on.
But then again my grandmother always thought stamp collecting was a worthwhile hobby LOL and I still have Annual Collections full of mint stamps that arent worth squat.

Personally my sovereigns are the last thing in my stack I would sell in a crisis. Would much rather pass on these pieces of history to my kids.

Yes, the single one.

It held 3 coins I think but not 100% sure, he always had it in his 'fob pocket'. I would guess I was about 6, in 1945.

I just like all things "sovereign". Apart from the look and feel, as well as the sense of history, there are the scales and the holders and other paraphernalia associated with these coins. I prefer half sovereigns. Also, not so important for me but they are sold easily and quickly and, unless you gave been silly, you get your money back.

The most recognised gold coin in the world, and I think I recall seeing "James Bond" with a few dozen for emergencies.
