The local cash converters has a Australian 1987 Arthur Phillip $200 dollar gold coin for sale . What is it worth ?? Or a fair price
As I would like to add it to my collection
They are asking $780.

They can be had at closer to spot than that, but don't pop up very often. It is not much of a premium to pay if you were going to complete a set, but not worth it if not in any hurry.

Im in no hurry and it’s not to complete any sets
Just to stack a little more gold. What would be spot price ?

Today's spot gold price for the coin is about $686

Pretty sure legally any business selling $200 coins would have to sell them at spot + gst or risk ato bs as they are legal tender non bullion coins (22K) and subject to GST so right now the lowest they could go would be $753.50
As already stated, this forum is by far the best place to pick them up :)
 
The thing is that when they buy a $200 coin they pay the buyer gst and then claim it back when they sell it. So if they bought it for say $600 they paid the buyer $55 in gst then claim back the $55 gst when they sell.

I do buy a little PM from these guys. It will be interesting now , if I can get them to negotiate on the price.
