What happened to The Perth Mint? End of interest for all their coins?

My take is that some coins sold out not necessarily because the designs were nice or anything, but mostly because of people speculating that their value will increase.

(IMO, the designs of lunar series 1 is way nicer than the current series).

Absolutely. Recent designs range from mediocre to crap.

This one? Funny how I have seen many people on this site complain about this coin..

http://www.google.com.au/imgres?um=...nh=190&tbnw=190&start=0&ndsp=26&tx=137&ty=101

Its the only numismatic I have wanted to buy. The minimal amount of colour looks really good IMO. Although I haven't seen it in person.

This coin really irritates me a lot.

First of all, why kangaroo? Shouldn't it be koala instead? giant panda is endangered while kangaroo just lying dead body on the highways.

Secondly, the giant panda look so sick, what's wrong with the designer? does he hate panda?

Finally, the box itself, why these colours? why ugly grey background colour? why these random pictures of panda and kangaroos? they aren't the same as the ones on the coin... why the size of two flags not the same? Australia's wider, and China's not as wide...

My conclusion is, total fail to the designer, total fail to the management.

Awaiting a response! Will post when I do!

I have some questions. 1. Does your team ever think you are producing way too many collectibles? Perhaps you should move to a quarterly release, and really ramp up the excitement. I think you're shooting yourselves in the foot by creating too much supply. As you know, the more supply, the more it cheapens the supply. 2. Cut your mint amounts! 3. Tell me the snake is the last dangerous and deadly series coin, and please, for the love of God, don't come up with deadly and dangerous part II. You really want piss off collectors more then you already have, than at some point introduce a part 2 ! As for me, I'd be forever done being a collector of PM collectibles. About the only item I'd buy is bullion Lunar seriesand I'm one who spends quite a bit on coins!!

That's the ugliest coin I've seen in a long time

went to one of the busy PO today and a snake typeset was sitting in the display. no snake love or no PM love...guess people will buy these coins again if spot goes up...until everyone sticks to low premium stuff...
