What do you think about NZ mint?

Their coins are actually quite nice. I think they would do themselves well if they did more series style issues. For example the Nose Art coins would have made a great series. As the series grows collectibility increases. It seems they just issue coins to a bunch of hype and they fade quickly as the next greatest thing comes along.

i also think that while the small holes may have looked good on a drawing on the coin they were probably lost and with that the effect.

pretty sure this sort of hole making has not been done on a coin before so in theory may have seemed easy but not so in practice.

lets wait till these coins are in hand before making a final judgement ?

to me the small holes looked more like a mullet had been sucking on it :lol:

I personally don't mind the new design and like the 4 holes instead of 7 holes. The only thing I don't like is the light color of the eye and teeth. I think it will look nice when you seen it in person. We will know soon enough as it is schedule to ship out around Oct 15.
 
It won't help everyone here but I'm hoping to have some Sharks at the next Melbourne SS meeting so you can see them in person and then make a decision.

After seeing that kind of BS going on with "collectible coins "
It happened last year with a certain dealer .
It reinforces my thought on NOT collecting anything collectible anymore .

I just had my first N.Z. Mint piece fall into my lap.
I scored a Mint Sealed N.Z. Silver Fern from my local dealer for just 6% over spot.
I was REALLY surprised they didn't have a "Face Value" but then it was explained to me that it's NOT "The Royal New Zealand Mint" rather it's a Private Mint.
The fact the Ferns are .9999 Fine & the Fern is BEAUTIFULLY detailed makes them a really attractive Round.
They get the THUMBS UP from me!
 
They are suppose to be released 1st November. I am doing my best to find out what is really happening here.

I pre ordered before I ordered and I confirmed Order 19.6.2012 and paid early july

Something is not right about this and I am waiting for a response from the NZ Mint. I will leave names out for now and lets hope we will get some news soon rather than later.

This was not a small order
 
I was dissappointed with the design change until I recieved my coin this morning. I think the teeth marks look great when looking at the actual coin and not a picture. I'm very happy with it.
