What condition should I expect my Perth Mint silver bar to be?

Actually that's got some nice crystallisation - has to cool at just the right rate for that to happen.

I notice that too, I would actually consider that a unique and positive feature.

I'm not sure what i'm looking for with this crystallization you mention.

I possibly have one of the best looking 10oz pm bars around (old small PM stamp) - sorry to gloat.
From memory, no dint/streeks/wages/etc - and it even has the hologram effect on the surface (from being wrapped in some kind of plastic (such as glad wrap) while still warm (so i have read).
Unfortunately, given the pictures here, not all 10ozers are like this...
Pics or it didn't happen. ;)

If I fly to Perth and buy some 10oz's over the counter, asking for newborn ones, will that work? I'd like a fresh one so I could take care of it, or at least ding it up in my own way.

Some of those dings and scratches are made by us - they don't caress them out of the moulds onto cloth covered tables then pack them carefully into boxes wrapped individually in bubble wrap :) They're banged out and stacked on top of each other. That's what a bar is, the rough and ready form of PM.

Isn't it lovely?:)

Worst bar ive come across so far... Tho its not stained via oxidation... it was handed to me like this, with grease or some sort of oil on it like it literally came directed
from the refinary moments ago.
Also not pictured, the edges on the back from it being cut through the mould or giloteen or however they do it, are razor sharp and could slice through our flesh pretty easy :-\
