what coins are you into?

Silver - i love the lunar series 1 and Britannias.

In gold, i like them all. I saw the special proof edition of the St George Dragon the other day which looked great in real life. Alas, i don't buy proofs unless they are premium free.
I would really love the viking noble but again, too pricey for the size.
Recently have enjoyed the Mexican 2.5 peso and the Russian ballerinas

Ahhh, is this the difference between the proofs and unc?
 
Besides silver coins I'm into Australian error and variety coins,and I'm on the look out for anything from Lebanon in particliar earlier years

I recon they should (or in time to come they will be) fall into numi I relly like Pientranik, his work in IMHO is some of the best going in OZ. The Kangaroo at Sunset is my fav ATM. Also like the 2000 Cartwheel Penny.

* 2010 High relief Boxing Kangaroo
* Lunar Series II proofs and unc
* 2008 Kookaburra 10oz size
* Wolves and Grizzlies (would complete the set, they look nice)
* Transformers coin, optimus prime
* Tassie Tiger is nice
* ASEs, Libertads, Scottdales rounds

Agree with you. Pietranik is a genius sculptor and the designer of the medallions, one, Rebecca Pierce is well recognised too. Did a bit more digging on these .Turns out there were 8 different Fedaration Flowers. One for each State and Territory.To commemorate the centenary of Federation.Only 500 minted ,of which 200 were placed in sets ,with the others sold individually cased.

I am moving out of coins, I already have albums full of the things.

I am collecting hyperinflation banknotes now, plenty of examples out there, which is worrying in itself, not just a one-off thing!

I am also collecting community/local/alternatice currencies, where small communities try to promote spending locally by issuing their own currencies. There are loads arouns, particularly in America, but they are all on parity and also pegged to the dollar so in effect they are just watered down versions of a currency in difficulty which can be spent in fewer places! Probably why most of them shut down after a year or two.

I was collecting Liberty Dollars but since the FBI shut them down and silver shot up in price they have been too expensive, and if they get declared as counterfeits they may be difficult to sell on when the time comes.

If any international members have community currencies near them I would be interested in getting hold of some

An 1880 8 Reals Spanish silver ,52 mm diameter .917 pure .7982 oz ASW.

The fore runner to our modern dollar coin.Minted in Spain ,but widely circulated in the new world.The Pillars and ribbons either side of the crest are the origin of our modern $ symbol.

Hi, got a pair of error '66 rounds,aUNC with edge to edge die crack through center of roo head through star and emu beak, the other from same bag is from same cracked die but +the star is missing the 9 oclock point, ive checked 1000 more ther the only error 50s ive found. Ive heard that is why they cut the double bar out of the die to prevent this classic flaw
 
Personally i am a silver stacker, interested in 37 crowns and american banknotes and anything that has some history and i also like commemoratives

Really nice coins.. but it got out of control & hard to store. Compared to bullion.
I'd rather focus on bars now.
 
Silver....im mad about silver...(sorry for posting twice didn't realise :( ) also where could i get a 100 trillion dollar zimbabwe note?...idk how to buy off the internet and don't have credit card...can u get em from coin shops?
