Do bullion dealers always buy back at spot price or will they sometimes buyback with premium, also which bars are best to resale to them because if they buy back at spot price wouldnt it be better to buy kilo bars instead of 1 ounce bars... Also I convinced a friend of mine on silver and she knows nothing about it but said shes going to buy AUD5000 worth soon, as this is probably a good idea id feel bad if I caused her to lose money, what do you guys think is buying large amounts now a good idea and what are your experiences on liquidating, thanks! ( im also thinking of buying next week)

I have always placed a floor on silver bars at this forum.
I pay spot for generic kilo bars and a little more for premium bars like Pamp and perth mint.
100oz bars take a lot longer to shift so I offer below spot for 100 oz generic bars and spot for a 100oz Perth Mint bar.
I also pay spot plus $15 if you resell your 10oz Silverstacker or Southern Cross bars to me.

See the thread started by Beamseeker for some info on resale of large bars.

If I were interested in large bars (I'm not) I would go for those with a hallmark name. In AUS. I'm not sure what that would be other than Perth Mint products. In the U.S. "Johnson Matthey" and "Engelhard" 100 oz bars will move at spot or higher from what I've heard.

"Is buying large amounts now a good idea" Who can accurately say where silver prices will go? We are approaching a good time seasonally for the metals, the economic news worldwide is bullish for metals right now; however I don't believe we have a free market but rather a controlled one until TPTB lose some of that control.

I wish we had dealers like you here, none of my local dealers offer spot, always a bit less on recognized stuff and even lower on unrecognized stuff.

I'll buy bars off you at spot up to 20 oz at a time though :)

You'd have to pull them out of my cold dead hands ;)

I was just saying that for when/if I'll ever sell. I will sell you an ounce of gold for spot, when it hits $2k, next week or so ;)
