Started noticing some lag again a couple of days ago, and getting worse for me.

Took just on 2 mins to send a pm this morning
Appears to be a lot slower to load in the evenings when more users on line
Still not at the same speed it used to be

As mentioned there are 700,000 PMs in the database - I don't think the module's original author ever anticipated it would be so heavily used (it's an open source plugin for the forum software), and the memory issues we were experiencing before appear to be related to PM activity.
Looks like we will need to clean house on all old PMs to get the system performance back. Start archiving what you want to keep as per the instructions here - http://forums.silverstackers.com/message-59506.html#p59506 - when I clean out PMs anything that has been moved to someone's explicitly created folders does not get removed.

Really bad right now - cut off - slow this - slow that - super frustrating.
The quicker the saved Pm's are dumped the better.

I'll be looking at this problem - I suspect that an IP range has been blocked by the host in trying to stop the DOS, and it's blocking legitimate traffic.
