A warning to all. I recently ordered a 2011, 1 oz Proof silver libertad from APMEX. Upon receiving it, i was horrified to see many small milk spots on part of the coin.

I'm aware of the problem on RCM products, but on a Proof Libertad? Did a quick search and someone else also had a problem with milk spots on a 2011, 1 oz Proof which was also graded at 69!!!

Perhaps there is a problem with the 2011 batch.

Very disappointed and have contacted APMEX to complain. Not hopeful about the outcome esp if i have to pay return shipping fees, which i think is their policy.

Just my bloody luck! Hopefully no one else gets one.

Damn. I've got some 2011 2 oz Proof Libertads. Guess I'll have to make a trip and take a look at them. Fingers crossed.

Any idea when the 2012s come out?

Yep!
I have three of these otherwise beautiful coins and the milkspots appeared about three weeks after ireceived them from APMEX.

I've had a couple of milk marks on PM coins recently. A 2oz coloured dragon and a Chinese Dragon. Very small spots but they do exist. Could be a lot more but who opens their rolls and has a look? I just put them away and forget about it.

Wonder what's going on with the spots. A few years ago I never heard of the spots except in combination of silver Maples. Now it seems to have spread to every major mint. Spots are appearing on the recent US 25th Anniversary coin sets but, strangely, only commonly on coins in PCGS holders. Huhhh, wonder if the composition of the plastic used in the holders is at the bottom of the plague.

You have the silver pox. Need to isolate from the rest of your stack to contain the spread. I will assist in this isolation offering spot price for the infected proof coins...

Shame - not my thing Libertad's but never seen the pox on fakes - one positive!

Milks pots on Libertads :o. Seriously, this B.S. has gone too far now  Something needs to be done before the entire coin world loses their shit

I mostly deal in slabbed coins so my experience is primarily with those coins. They develop them after they are slabbed so they certainly can and will show up later.

Milk Spot Containment Area.

No, I believe you're thinking of "PANDA WITH GEMSTONE EYES"

The one above is "GLOWING IN THE DARK PANDA AND FLAG"

A WONDERFUL PANDA CELEBRATING HIS NEW HOME ....A TWO IN ONE....A FUN BEAUTIFUL PANDA WITH SPARKLING BLUE SAPPHIRE BLUE EYES...WITH HIS NEW FLAG...AND SPARKLING BACKGROUND....BUT IN THE DARK IT GLOWS ...WHAT FUN...IT COMES WITH A CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY....

Not to be confused with "GLOW-IN-THE-DARK ROYAL KOALA"

I had a tone spot in my reverse proof set.
Exchanging with APMEX currently, presuming they cherry picked for the graded 70s sets they are selling now they tried to bend me over by passing it on to a customer.
