WA loses AAA credit rating - higher taxes ahead

Maybe the WA Premier should ask for a bigger share of the GST Pie...WA gets the smallest % of the pie, compared to what the state generates in GST..

The ACT, SA, NT and TAS get the best returns, more is returned than collected in their states.

Now Qld, Vic, Wa and Nsw get less back than is collected in those states.

Now I'm not saying that the present system is unfair for some places like the NT have a small population and a large area.

Why not come up with an optional state added Gst added to the present one.. Then WA could have the national 10% gst plus a state one of 2.5% with all of the extra going back to that state.

It seems like the only way that MP's are happy is when they have $$$$ to spend.

Now the Blue leader wants to be remembered as the 21st century road builder...He will need a lot of $$$ to do that..Maybe he will be interested in an increase in Gst around next election 2016.

Of course the Gst will go up but the big ? is when and by whom.

Ratings agency Fitch has downgraded its credit rating for South Australia, blaming the state's deteriorating budget and debt position.

Fitch has cut the state's rating from AA+ to AA.

In a statement, the ratings agency says while the State Government is starting to rebuild its financial position, it does not expect significant recovery for at least another three years.

Fitch warns the rating could be lowered further if the state's operating margin worsens.
