Valcambi any good

Just wondering if buying sheets of 1g combi sheets is any good for reale as you can then sell it in smaller amounts? Has anyone does this or otherwise I was looking at 1oz PAMP suisse. Any thoughts would be fantastic as this is all new to me.

Cheers

You have expensive taste :P

the 100g valcambi and 1oz pamps are probably highest premium over spot for 'bullion silver' you could pay, and they are certainly not the most liquid.

100g combi sheets are about $135 and just over three ounces worth, you could probably get 4 X 1oz perth mint coins delivered for that much.

Thanks aleks I just was looking at that myself and realised :) I am going to go with coins instead any thoughts on best place in Oz to buy? and what type?

1oz perth mint coins are pretty popular, but you might be interested in 1966 round 50 cent coins. Three of them make about 1oz of silver, are normally low-er premium (can change, they are have been very popular in the past and the premiums go up accordingly) and liquid.

Don't buy them. It's a rip off aimed at preppers who think one day they will use 1g pieces of silver to buy groceries!
So unless that's your plan, get yourself some low premium rounds or a 10oz bar if you can.
Maybe look at 5oz coins too?

I got a sheet as a reminder of the times. Silver was well on its way to the moon and people were all worried that no one would be able to afford their kilo bars. In response to this Valcambi brought out these tiny little bars along with the idea that you could split them (Like the olde days pieces of eight) A couple of other companies also brought out divisible bars but they didn't look so good.

By the time I bought mine silver had crashed and the whole idea was just a relic of a time when people thought you would be able to buy anything with 1g of silver.

They look pretty cool though but if I was to sell them I doubt I would get my money back.

Probably better off with Perth Mint offerings, any of the dealers on the site should be able to help you out. If you are buying small amounts the postage is a killer. Try and find a dealer who will hold onto your small purchases until you get enough to send in one parcel, will save you money in the long run.

I have sheet of 100 grams, and when the Zombies come I''ll buy groceries with it......also bought 100 of those little gram capped coins that are on eBay, I got them direct so good price,
I figured nothing wrong with divided silver for liquidity in a barter economy, but now I'm covered for that 10 oz bars all the way.. and not pamp... No point

Agree with all the above.
But Valcambi gold combi bar might be a better proposition.

Well I have a couple of the gold 1 gram bars because they were on a group buy and for some reason they worked out to be the cheapest way to buy low volumes at the time. Only got a couple. On their own they are a bit underwhelming but they look pretty good in the slab. I guess once they have been split up they loose all their uniqueness and just become a very plain looking tiny gold bar.

I wonder, did anyone actually break up such a 'combi bar'?
Because, it's abit ridiculous, since that effectively is the end of the product as such, leaving you with... well... some silver blobs?

Just imagine, there you are, with some 1 gram micro bars, ready to pay the groceries with. Gonna need to have a pocket magnifying glass handy so that the shopguy is able to recognize something haha.
