Usama Bin Landen is dead. How will this effect Silver short-term?

The poster boy for terrorism is dead. Killed by US.

I remembered I read a news article somewhere that if Bin Landen is killed, there will be a hellstorm of revenge from muslims.

How do you think the market will respond to this news (and possible news from Muslim response) in the short-term?
 
Nothing will change. He works for the TPTB in order to fuel the fire and give America excuses to use force.
Or so says my tin foil hat which is currently fending off lots of frequencies :P
 
Depends how bin Laden died.

If he died of old age (or liver failure) then the world just became a safer place and precious metals might drop.

If died because U.S. special forces whacked him then there will be a lot of very pissed off Muslim extremists out for revenge and precious metals might rise.
 
No doubt if it's true then it was most probably an insider tip off. So then another Arab extremist takes over the helm. Then somebody identifies his whereabouts for money & the US whacks him. Soon, hopefully nobody will want the top job !

Osama hasn't been much more than a figurehead and financier for a while. Ayman al-Zawahiri has been the nuts and bolts, 'get things done' brains behind the network for quite some time.
 
short term effect will be:

1)terrorist rage
2)attack wall street tomorrow
3)market gets close for the weeks
4)??????
5)Profit
 
Wasn't Bin Laden that guy that they blamed stuff on that Cheney did? ;)

If they do have his body I hope that they do the decent and smart thing and turn it over to his family very quickly.
 
Yea right...Osmas dead ....why wasnt it televised or youtubed in the same manner saddams death was. Complete bullshit, dude was dead in the 90's, am i wrong or do people on kidney dialysis live a long and fruitful life?

That's quite true. So the real question becomes "Why is this story being fed to the masses?"

Well he and his followers are not the only Middle eastern figure head to be angered.

Qaddafi just lost 3 grand children and 1 son to a NATO bomb ... he's pissed and im sure there will be repercussions, its starting to rear its head in other parts of the middle eastern. Do some reading and you'll see what i mean ...
 
How long till mad terrorists being harbored in Libya and Iran attack the USA in revenge attack, my guess is about July to hide QE3to-infinity .
 
As a mad silverbug it's hard to admit this but I think Gold will rally the most from this news. In War (or the possibility of it) , everyone runs to Gold. Not so disappointed - wanted to stack more anyway - always a silver lining!

Actually, did you hear this was a CME sponsored hit? That's right, the CME are so desperate for silver, they actually sent out a few traders sitting on massive short positions to hit Osama. They figured he was hoarding silver to finance his war on terror and would not only collect his stash, but they could BTFD on the good news the hit would generate this morning and cover their shorts. So now the JP Morgue have him and his bullion on ice.
