Unsolicited / off-topic comments in trading threads

Hey guys, unsure if this is the correct place to post this but how does this work I've been a member for 7 years but really only traded on Facebook. how does the seller/buyer ranking system go and how do you do your due diligence and see the person you're buying from is legit?
If you click on the seller you can see their trading history and the feedback they've received. From what I've seen there's very few problems on this site especially with someone with lots of positive feedback.

Every so often it seems we have to have a reminder about comments in sales threads, so this is a reminder.

We have a trading feedback system for positive, negative and neutral trading experiences and while it's not mandatory to leave feedback, it is of more assistance to forum members than taking pot shots at others in sales threads.

Hi all, can we attach photos to PM conversation on this forum PM chats? cannot seem to find the upload a file option in PM conversation. Guidance will be highly appreciated. Many thanks in advance

@PJ92
Should be right there just as on normal threads? (Screen cap below from my PM messages - attaching photos to PM's works ok). If it's not showing up for you, maybe consider purchasing a membership ;)

"Upload a file" button is missing in PM conversations.

This button is available in forums but not for PM conversations. This is weird.

You can also just drag and drop pictures into the reply and that should work as long as the file size is within the parameters that the website will accept. If the file size is too big, you can take the photo with your phone then screenshot the photo, that usually works. Or use an online file shrinker, easy to find via Google

It was not the file size issue. The file size is 30kb and drag and drop did not work. Loaded the photos on a shared website for another member to see. It would have been much easier to send him the photos via text message or email but some people have their reasons to not share their mobile number or email address or just like to make things difficult for others. who knows. Thanks everyone for your support.

This needs reinforcing every so often.

Please refrain from off-topic or unsolicited comments in sales threads there's been a few creeping in.

Members are reminded that trading threads are only to be used for trading purposes - if you are not a prospective party to a transaction in a thread, don't post.

If you are a buyer or seller and there are off-topic posts being made in your thread, please report them for deletion.

All members are reminded to do their own due diligence before entering a transaction - including price comparing elsewhere before committing to purchase items on offer.

Trading threads are a classifieds system - not an invitation to interfere in someone else's trade.

I understand that some comments are intended as advice regarding rarity, condition etc and I usually turn a blind eye to them. But comments on the trustworthiness of the individual selling items, history or whatever are not encouraged.

Pricing Guide Indication is Free Enterprising that I believe no one can intervene in The For Sale Section.

"Free enterprise describes an economic system in which prices, products, and services are determined by market forces rather than government intervention or as suggested."

If the item doesn't sell is up to the seller to price adjusted or accept the buyers offers.
If the seller decide to sell cheaper than market price is up to the individual.

As we knows everyone would like good pricing for theirs items.

I decided in the end to clean that thread up. Probably best if well-meaning advice is kept to private messages I think otherwise we start journeying in to grey areas and end up with others tipping in their thoughts.

But I wasn't going to PM everybody with this piece of well-meaning advice. :p
