Unknown Chinese Silver Art Bar 5.4 oz

It looks to new to me ,loads og these fake art bars around ,
Depends who you bought it from & all that .
Get it XRF tested
I wouldn't touch thing like that until you figure them out ,it's more numi stuff

Shitz, $228, and its from Tennsese. I did see that ebay aluminum thread, on fake silver art bars, and the seller never did say it was silver. They just states it was 155 grams. Ill tell them they need to get it tested... what else shall i do? Thank gosh i didn't pay for it yet.

If you can cancel the bid or get out of the transaction somehow ,do it ;)
There's plenty of US based people on here & I think Maggie ships OS ;)
Start here & work out who the real dealers are around your area :D

Stick to buying from reputable dealers until you figure these scams out. I wouldn't stray far from APMEX for a while.

Just pay the extra and get something worthwhile. Even if silver goes to the moon it is not about max oz at any cost!
 
A friend of mine has a wholesaler he uses, and he says i can go through him to get wholesale prices which is $1-2 below spot. I guess ill do that. The 'bar' was in a junk lot. Guess ill tell them to get it check out first.
 
I would just stay well away from chinese art bars, sometimes stated as being "silver" but thats just the colour as its generally just white metal

Ok, these are Tibetan Silver (base metal) and can be picked up very cheaply on ebay and at markets and dealers who have bought a bulk lot from Thailand/Laos and got them into other countries - US - Australia.

They look pretty cool and also have a silver appearance and i bet it really does weight 5.4oz, the question is, was it worth what you paid for a pretty bar with no real precious metal value..

Moral - if you want actual silver, understand what silver is, who sells it, what a sensible price to pay is, who are the best people to buy from as a person starting out as a silver investor?

People make mistakes when they are new to a market, just learn from it and consider it a "high ticket investment conference in a trade - OR dont pay / get a refund.

Thank you, and yes you are correct. To make a little money on the side, i currently buy and sell antiquities, and in the last year or so ive became intrigued with fountain pens (ill buy any if you have them) and im particularly fond of the sterling silver fountain pens, which i have about 8 of currently. Im always seeing bars going for more than spot, and another question ive had to a while is, how much are you suppose to pay over spot for a bar. I know its more supply and demand, but the bottom line is, is that we're all just trading silver, which is going for ~$27 an oz.

wow, same thing happened to me - i just bought this - it is from wisconsin - is it real silver? the seller didn't say it was silver, just that it was a quarter pound. it cost $2500 but thank gosh i didn't pay yet - maybe some nice silver stack can identify it for me.

$2500 for a quarter pound/4oz of silver???( i assume it sterling).
that must be something special with the knife. either it has historical value or you bid an item that the seller join the bidding
