I recently got the free silver plated medallion from the Macquerie mint, and have accidently subscribed to their newsletter via mail.
This turned out to be a positive because a few times a month, they send me advertisements of the new released.
I was looking at the sheet I got yesterday, and how they are charging $30 a month for a subscription to receive coloured $2 coins
However, I also saw the 50c UNC subscription that they are offering a special price on.
$15 and you get a 1970 Captin Cook and a 1966 Round 50! The spot in the 50 is just under $13, and that's just the silver! They are both in UNC cards, and the 50c cards usually retail about $10 each.
Im seriously considering getting it! It seems that its actually a good deal for a fully UNC round 50.
However I find that this mint tends to make things seem to good, I recently tried to get a one time issue of the 'Fabulous 15' collection, and get the one time issue of the PM Kanga in a collection case with a silver watch, but ended up getting a 20gm Kangaroo. Like seriously, the first coin is 20gm and the rest 1oz. Marketing weasels.
Be careful, id email and ask if its silver before buying, they may very well be cupro nickel like the other 50c's.
