How did things come to this? The USA and modern Russia are natural allies that are held in perpetual conflict by the Democrat party. And there is no reason that Russia should be at odds with Western Europe now, they could unify with Europe easily and create fantastic trade and security agreements. Again it’s the political left that constantly wants war with Russia for some reason. I am beginning to see that in the modern era it’s the self proclaimed “Morally Righteous” political Left that is the driving force behind war and conflict in the 21st century at every level from universities to countries.

MOSCOW – In response to US missile deployment in the Asia-Pacific region, Russia could consider deploying its own systems in Venezuela.
According to Aleksandr Sherin, first vice president of the State Duma Defense Committee, that would be a tough but effective answer.
“The US and its leaders throughout their history have, unfortunately, only demonstrated that the sensible and proper language of communication, the agreements, does not work with them. Unfortunately, the US only understands brute and crude force. Basically, they only understand what they use themselves,” said SHerin.
“The deployment of our systems in Venezuela, for example, [is possible] as an option, and may be termed a second Cuban Crisis, but it was precisely the Cuban Crisis that cooled the momentum of the United States for a long time,” he continued.
“If this option, God forbid, had to be considered and put into practice, that would be a very tough but very effective option,” he said.
However, according to him, Moscow will obtain Caracas’s consent to this request and the Venezuelan leadership expresses its full solidarity with Russia’s actions.
“We have a so-called common partner, I will not call him an enemy,” he said.
“The deployment of S-400 air defense systems, for example, or Bastion or Iskander ground missile systems in [Venezuelan] territory would be to multiply by zero all efforts made over decades and the investment of billions of dollars in building missile systems, the vassal system and NATO, “said Aleksandr Sherin.
Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin called an urgent meeting with the Security Council amid the latest US missile tests.
Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said that Russia has never declined dialogue with the US on the Intermediate Reach Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty, has shown openness and transparency in its actions.
“We never refused to talk, we proposed that throughout February to August. We showed our openness. We showed the missile that raised questions. The Americans didn’t come. If more participants were needed, why was it necessary to destroy everything?” said Sergei Shoigu in an interview with television channel Rossiya 24.

No, I don't doubt China's capabilities. Likewise, I think if Japan militarises, even the US military today cannot win Japan. In 1942, Japan was still a technologically backward country relative to the League of nations with an economy only 1/10 the size of the US and 1/2 of China then.
The US presence in the pacific is the only reason why Japan does not militarise. If the US withdraws from the pacific, Japan will militarise and they will produce weapons as reliable as their automobiles and bullet trains.
When that happens, Japan will replace the US to become the primary power in Asia and there's no way to predict what will happen next. One thing for sure, the Japanese will not be as kind as the Americans or Westerners in dealing with their neighbours. The biggest loser will be Korea.

Japan’s biggest problem is resources. It can fight a short war but would have to capture substantial resources quickly. That’s their big weakness.
They could inflict a serious blow to other countries but nuclear armed countries would in turn devastate Japan. Modern warfare in a major conflict would not be pretty. Recent wars have been bee stings in comparison.
Just imagine 200 (or many more) Tunguska events happening on cities with radiation thrown in.

If the US ever gets toppled by China & Russia, countries like Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Philippines will all be taken over by China. Japan won't have time to develop military capabilities.
Some of it has to do with bad policy, but most has nothing to do with anything the US government did. The main reason America can't bring back the jobs from China is due to most people not willing to pay for the true cost of goods. The Chinese government messed with the free market and subsidised all production, this then created a false unsustainable demand for goods.

I guess it's a circular loop. China could only do what it did because of the US central bank and America could only do what it did because of the Chinese central bank. Makes you think that the FED and BOC are the same working together. Which means the upcoming cold war is all orchestrated and fake.

It won't take long. Don't underestimate Japanese military capability. They can militarise in less than 10 years.
The Japanese were welding swords in 1868. By 1904, they defeated the Russian navy which lost both Far East and Baltic Fleet. The Japanese at that time was like the North Korea today, economically weak but with a well trained but average sized military.
A common misconception is that Qing China had no military and was weak. The truth is that China was then the world's biggest economy and had the biggest army in the world and the strongest Navy in Asia made up of German manufactured ironclad warships during the late 1800 century.
When the Japanese navy defeated both Russian and Chinese navy, Japan was still a very poor country with little resources and technology.
