I'd have to agree there. His modus operandi seems to be say something extreme, test what the response is, dial it back the necessary amount to be popular.

Populist demagogue, or A Great Persuader covers it for me, which is no big deal. Covers just about every politician really.
 
Look the USA economy is governed by the Exchange Stabilization Fund which was brought into operation in the 1930's...Do you folks really believe that the Military Industrial complex is funded by taxes and out of the feds printing money. The amount of money spent on military hardware, overseas bases far exceeds the financial defence budget stated officially.

The ESB makes billion of $$$$$ each and every year and is answerable to no one including the President...How much does it contribute to the military each year? Lord knows! I figure it must be at least $2 trillion given the number of US support basses around the world and also the cost of the active military engagements going on at any one time.

Will Trump change any of this? Maybe he might bring some of the overseas troop deployment overseas and us them in building local infrastructure in the US.

Stop believing in the official figures, check out such organizations such as the Exchange Stabilization Fund, The Plunge protection Team and the TPP, then and only then will you understand the way the current system works.. The banking system does not work like it used to..The banks make far more in the Casino world of derivatives than depositors (oops I meant lenders).

Do you think that the financial world has changed with the way it does business and why?

PS.. I do believe in Free trade but not at he expense of national sovereignty. Hope Trump keeps his word and scraps the TPP to the scrap bin of history!

?? What do judges have to do with it? Either it's free trade or it restricted in some manner :/
 
He who has the judges makes the rules...Any dispute under TPP rules is decided by the ISDS...The Judges on the ISDS are Corporate Lawyers! The TPP free trade agreement was written by the the same lawyers!

Note that the ISDS isn't actually the free(ish) trade element of the TPP. And the strengths or flaws of the dispute resolution mechanisms embodied in the TPP should not be coupled.

Your precious "national sovereignty" means that you don't care if foreigners have their money and assets stolen by a corrupt, unaccountable government simply because they are foreign. You must be happy that farmer's like Peter Spencer have had their property stolen without compensation when done by State Governments that aren't subject to Section 51 of the constitution.

The only thing I know about the ESF is from Wikipedia:

The Exchange Stabilization Fund (ESF) is an emergency reserve fund of the United States Treasury Department, normally used for foreign exchange intervention. This arrangement (as opposed to having the central bank intervene directly) allows the US government to influence currency exchange rates without affecting domestic money supply.

As of October 2009, the fund held assets worth $105 billion, including $58.1 billion in special drawing rights (SDR) from the International Monetary Fund.[1]

Considering the US Federal budget is measured in the $trillions, I can't see how it could possibly govern the US economy as you claim. But please explain.
 
How would you ever get those figures when the ESF is not subject to audit...It started with over $30 billion in 1930...The fund doesn't seem to be doing very well.

It may well only disclose such figures to throw off those who don't care of what is really going on!

How many people know the ESF?

So how can you claim it bankrolls the US economy if its finances are not transparent? :)
