Trade Dispute Resolutions - input sought

hey guys, maybe I could get a little help here. I buzzed a small purchase a month ago with a member and got a pm asking for bank deposit etc. sent all my details, assured the item would be sent as soon as payment cleared. made payment probably straight away. from there I got no pm's back from the member and I see he hasn't been online since the 18th of December. what do I do from here ? the total was just over $100. Small I know but not sure what to do. I've sent multiple messages and I don't know what else can be done. I messaged another buyer of an item this person had for sale who had received some correspondence from the person. That person said he had been told the person was in hospital.. and would be out in a few days. I figured I would wait and see. I haven't left feedback yet and the person has not been online since.

It was 4x 2016 kooks + postage. Looks like the sales thread has disappeared.

it was a member with only 3 feedback joined early this year. my first bad purchase on here. everything else has been more or less excellent and some have been fantastic.

it could be frustrating for you but give it some time.if seller really is/was in hospital and to log in is not his/her priority. It has happened here before and most of time problem was solved.

What are we afraid of? Name and shame I say.

I am really sick of people with their knickers caught in their skirt. I am very lucky. I have only had one deal that was a bit suss from a God fearing member but I didn't have the balls to create a fuss. It was a small deal in monetary terms but now I wish I had said something as I have seen members burnt by the same person. I will not name and shame them now as that is history.

HOWEVER, any prick that tries to pull a fast one in the future will be condemned on this site, Facebook etc.

I have a few trusted friends with whom I deal and that gives me security and satisfaction. Anyone with less than twenty positive trades and a hard sell will be overlooked as a waste of oxygen.

Rant over for the moment.

Cheers

B

I would say its very hypocritical to even question me about personal attacks after you pmed me after my first message with the title "are you an idiot"( found your numerous pms amusing - thankyou)
Sulla, stop playing the martyr. Me alluding to the fact you are acting like a big girl has nothing to do with homophobia.
I suggest you just have a coke and a smile and shut the turtle up.

I cant recall ever PMing you. My sent list agrees.

I always thought a buzz is not a confirmed thing unless the seller actually says so in PM later?

Was this same excuse also used before? I think I read the very same thing sometime last year. Another one is that the person was travelling or was overseas. Or it is blamed on the wife/husband using the SS account.

Well I am in the same boat with Kramer, waiting for the coin to arrive. Was waiting for about 7-10 days and got a pm saying
he's been in the hospital and will send the coin asap. So it almost about 3 weeks now and there is not much I can do. I will wait for couple more week before leaving a neg feedback.

36 hours is too long to wait for money to be cleared in your account?
Are you kidding me?
If you need the money faster than that, ring up Cuba Gooding Junior and scream, "Show me the money, show me the money!"
Or do the logical thing, inform in your post that the money is time sensitive and you need it pronto. Preferably by the stacker to get
into his van and drive it to you, anything over 1000 km away you will cover speeding fines....

When I do new transfer I get a message saying it could take up to 3 business days (usually is done in one though). 3 days seems reasonable, but 36 hours seems too optimistic.

I just go to that person's bank to deposit if its urgent. Then payment clears to their account immediately.

Sorry to hear about that - who is the member, I ask so that no-one else suffers the same problems because the fact of the matter is that this forum can't, despite best intentions, do anything about this sort of stuff. Sad but true.

Any resolution to this?

We need a name if not resolved so others don't get burnt.
yep ... better still we need a sticky thread with all members names who have done this shit . I understand some people have problems etc but it seems to becoming more common . in the early days it was rare.

Maybe a thread where names are posted after say 2 weeks of non contact ? That to me seems a fair time frame for someone to respond . Then if its resolved admin can delete their names . what do others think ?

Probably a waste of time because the scum have done a runner anyway . It seems there is reluctance to name & shame & i cant understand why . If someone stiffed me i would be yelling their name from the rooftops around here to stop others getting burnt.

No news yet. Mine was a purchase of RAM Roll of $2 Orange. I will put this down to genuine reason, as I don't think its intended to scam people with his (small) reasonable feedback.

I think this idea has merit - something is needed to address what seems to be an increasing problem, and this seems as good a way as any. Yes, it needs the admins to maintain the thread, and some clear criteria as to when and why names will be added to (and hopefully, removed from) the thread.

How about it, GP?

How about it, GP?

Had been suggested in the past. It will not happen as that might expose this site to defamation lawsuits. Great idea though.

To be successful in a 'slander & defamation' case, there are certain factors that need to be clearly demonstrated ...

Has the plaintiff lost income ( actual / and or potential ) from the loss of reputation ?
Was the alleged slander publicised in a least three different public areas ?
Can the plaintiff provide clear evidence to counter the alleged 'slander' ?

There's probably a few more requirements than the above ...

Don't worry about any 'defamation' case arising from ANYTHING that is stated on this forum. It would not pass the test ( as above ).

If I had 8 - 10 grand of stuff not delivered, I'd gladly attend any Court Case, to defend my actions of attempted recovery of my property.

Slander & defamation case good luck to that how about my own losses and potential income plus interest. If account is hacked should at LEAST made new account and contact GP knowing he has orders of high amounts of money in the process.
