Tracking the 2012 1oz Silver Dragon Secondary Market

Nah,
Don;t think the airs out just yet .... some people are definitely getting cheaper than others though... it all comes down to who has enough time to sit in front of the computer whilst not many others are.

ie. luck?

the avg price does seem very close to $70 - $80 range for the 1oz dragon

The mania is cooling a little. Gainesville has dropped their 1oz silver dragons to 99 from 115 and reduced the premium on the 1oz gold dragons back to 300. They will have to drop down a lot more before I would touch them. There are too many dragons that haven't been released and we saw what happened to the Mice when 100000+ coins were dumped on the market in a short period of time.

In the last 24-48 hours, I am finally seeing some price declines on the 2010 tigers (down to 70 from 80-100) and a slight continuation of the price declines on the 2011 kooks (about 46). I am still impressed with the way the tigers and timberwolf coins have held up during the drop in silver price. Some larger lot sales of 20-30 coins are selling for a lot less than individual coins. For example, 25 timberwolves and 4 pandas (2010) each went for 44/coin vs. 60 (timberwolf) and 50-65 (pandas) for single coins.

62.5 seems like the support for a BU 1oz dragon. :)

My guess is resistance is at 73

:D

What's the 20 DMA?

Here hee

since there are willing seller, the resistance can be as high as 88
with the silver price heading north
and late comers coming in for the chase in the next few months. :)

Sorry to drag up an old thread. But what's everyones thoughts on these with the lower spot price, have they held at $60, or still going to drop?

The wholesale price in Sydney is still $6000 for a 100 x 1oz box; although I am pretty sure I could knock at least a $100 off the asking price.
I just saw a member here offer it for $59 each.
Happy to do a trade of 130 x 1oz mice for 100 x 1oz Dragons if anyone is interested. (face to face anywhere in Sydney)

I finally paid $80 to get a BU 1oz dragon off the ebay. just to finish my collection.

Too bad, have to pay this much for 1 oz lousy silver :)

To bad about the hype...
I still have 10 or so 2000 1oz Ag dragons and about the same in 2001 1oz Ag snakes.
Bought them back in 2007 directly from the PM when no one gave a damn. I just bought whatever they had laying around.
;)

Interesting dropping in on threads like this, often years after the party finished.
Lucky to get $30 for one, now.

With three (known) sales on the secondary market already for the 2012 1oz silver dragon, i thought it would be interesting to track a few sales as they come up to guage the numismatic premium that these coins are attracting.

Lets start off with:
1. SpannerMonkey's first sale for $71 @ the PM dragon release meet.
2. Elemental's Auction = $62
3. SpannerMonkey's 3 coin sale = $100 each

There are a few coins up on ebay aus for $70 so will be watching how these go...
