Tracking the 2012 1oz Silver Dragon Secondary Market

I find it interesting that, not so long ago, the word scalping was used against people wanting to charge, from memory, a circa +$20 premium for the 1oz dragons. How times have changed. :)

Just for the record I am a believer in laissez faire, and in letting the market determine the price of goods.

The problem (one of many) with feebay is that if there is a sale but no payment received and as a seller you do the non-payment fee refund process which is pretty easy, feebay still records in its history that the sale took place.

So for people doing a search on how much items sold for, it will still show a Dragon selling for say $300 even though the buyer never paid and the seller has recouped their listing fees which is pretty freggin misleading on the part of feebay because in fact a "sale" never took place !

Ok I have a good offer on the Proof and I think I will take it, otherwise I may end up with nothing. This should then set a benchmark on proofs but I still think there are more legs to go with them. So keep an eye out.

Also if I make a counteroffer, does the original offer still stand or is that now null and void ?

Do it via PM on eBay :)

original offer disappears, unfortunately after you make the counter offer. If you then wanted the original offer back - you have to get them to submit it again.

Ok good to know for next time, I think I may have left it too late for this one...

Done - $400 for Proof. Personally I think they got a good price. I see these going a lot higher.

So the Benchmark has been set, fair Ebayer with a good rating so hopefully should all be OK.

Well I have just set another one with another Buy It Now for $650 ? Lets see what happens.

Sorry I do apologise sincerely to those that missed out. As mentioned though, I still more legs in it to go yet. So far mine was the only PROOF that I have seen on Australian Ebay. Not sure Globally.

Just found this on ebay: (not my listing)

$20,500 for a full box.

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/100x-1oz...70814261354?pt=AU_Bullion&hash=item3f0dc9b06a

A member of this forum tried to use this listing to justify selling me 100 dragons at $190 a pop.

That member just went on my never buy from list.
It isnt the lister of said ebay auction by any chance is it? Pump n dump!

I didn't check the listing until just now as I thought the member had put in a typo some where. When I got no reply I just checked it....... It appears so.........IMO it's one thing to put what ever you want on ebay but it's another to try to stooge another member of the forum. I thought this place had a bit an un written etiquette. As far as I am concerned thats just as bad as offering $100 below spot on a one ounce gold 999 PM coin.
