Today I found (while detecting)...

I picked up 2 rings and about $9 in coins (more coins soaking) from 2 mornings at the beach :)

I also headed out to Nundle over the weekend but didn't have any luck. I think it had a lot to do with the company though, couldn't stay in the one spot for any longer than 5 minutes :/

Thanks for sharing your booty pics. Were the others in Nundle detecting as well or panning?

One other person had a crappy detector (and wearing steel capped boots) and the rest where either panning or helping to dig targets.

Here is an interesting one (at least to me) it is almost mineralised, now I know damn well that firearms related post are strictly forbidden here but I think this will be an exception please forgive me if i am wrong.

I think it is Webley - large diamond chequering, the cylinder is more 'forward' than modern designs. What is the scale?

Is there a larger diamond around the grip screw?

Here is a strange one , it is a 1940s era (I think) dodge truck tailgate wedged between a huge multi ton boulder and some smaller boulders, it is way higher on a mesa than any flood plane or natural placement from that time period . It appears if one were to remove this the whole tons of boulders would crash down.It is also in a crevice in the middle of knowwhere My detector was picking up a weak signal below in the lower section , I kept digging and pinpointing until I realized DUH! someone had blasted probably birdshot on the rock above this and my detector and pinpointer were picking this up. Or there is something at a deeper depth , but when i looked up to realize there was tons of weight in boulders resting above my head I abandoned the project. Possibly a modern day death trap!!
So My question is what the hell is a 40s era truck tail gate doing wedged between giant boulders, with shotgun blasts doing on a high mesa crevice where knowone would ever go unless they happened upon it or knew where it was ???

Maybe it is best that you don't know and don't look at what was buried in the 1940's era dodge truck :|

It is just the tailgate , no sign of the truck anywhere..

Have they found Jimmy Hoffa yet?

Maybe it was the entry to a mine that has collapsed
I would say defiantly not , although that is what I might say , there is old , very old mines in the area but much further away.
