There is an on TV, Westpac I think, for after hours banking. I see him depositing and withdrawing coins. That could be the way to go. Avoids questions.

Today I visited my local branch and noticed a poppy staring at me from the grey coin storage shelve they have at the teller.
After my transaction I asked the lady if I could get $10 in $2 coins specifically the back 5 of which one was the poppy.
She failed to understand why I wanted the back five so I had to explain to her.
She was grateful for the explanation and we spoke a little further on the topic.
The teller lady got excited about this new knowledge and proceeded to voluntarily pull out bags of $2 coins for me to dig through. I tried to tell her that they were quite rare and I appreciated the gesture, but there was a line building up behind me.
The teller didnt care she kept pulling out bags & bags, I did feel uncomfortable that I was taking up others time but who am I to look a gift horse in the mouth.
I found one more early on and then the lady began helping me, on her first bag she said "oh look at this one, there's an aboriginal man on it"....
Seriously....
A bank teller who works at a bank,
a bank that deals with money,
Australian currency runs through her hands every day,
40 hours a week.
I smiled politely as I thought I was just hit with the most extreme dry sarcasm in the universe.
Alas, there was no sarcasm when she followed with "oh, they all have him on there, ah aha I never looked at these before"
I flipped the last bag on my hand and scanned for coros. None.
I thanked her for the opportunity & politely bid fair well.
Is this grounds to change banks?

Usually my coffee gals find me the $2 poppies and coronation coins, but yesterday at a pub in Blackheath up the Blue Mountains, I scored a pristine coronation.

Found both a poppy AND a coronation coin today, and the coronation was in excellent condition.
Two more poppies this morning from the coffee girls.

They are. The design on the $2 coin has never been changed so bit if an 'occasion' on that front. The coloured ones are 500k mintage and were only distributed through RSL's. 5m mintage for the non-coloured ones as they were distributed as normal through banks. Hold on to them if you find them.
