It's a bracelet, it's not as big as it looks, only a half ounce coin. The chains don't look as small when it's on your wrist, I think the doubled chains help.
Ended up costing more than I thought since I couldn't feet a quote for the work ahead of time (and it had to go back for adjustments) but I'm pretty happy with the result. It's pretty much the ultimate stacker accessory.

So I walk into a gold dealers office to buy a couple coins he's put aside for me and what do you know, 15 minutes before the RBA decided to kick my wallet in the nuts. The spot jumped $35 just during the car ride over. So instead of just buying this and a couple other little pieces I traded in a 4 ducat. It's a beautiful coin though. 1881. He had a double eagle and st gaudans but like us sliver dollars they suffer from weak strike and just don't look that nice in person, even mint they look worn (maybe because of the low rim?). He also had some 1905 gold $5 coins but they were awfully small for a $450 coin.
This is the sweet spot. Feels weighty in the hand, strong image and great color. Very happy.
*edit* couldn't help looking a few things up. Apparently when this coin was minted a cowboy or a school teacher would earn roughly $1 day. A pair of handmade shoes cost $3. A Pound of coffee or a dinner in a hotel cost $0.25. A haircut cost $0.10 (and a "super deluxe " haircut in a bordello would cost $2.50

Interestingly, a 70lb bushel of corn cost $1.75 in the late 1800's and costs basically the same now in the US wroth subsidies.

Let's try this again.... Picked this at my LCS on Friday. $55 for the Morgan and Peace. The kookaburra was in the mail when I got home, not the LCS.

Decided to do a bit of roll hunting on the way home. I got $60 in halves and no silver. BUT! I did get an entire roll of '73 D halves, the roll was already marked too. I know, it's not much, and it's not silver, but it is a nice little addition to a growing collection.
