Today I Bought...

Walking around money :)

Something a little different compared to my usual stack... a local jeweller made up a batch of 1g and 2.5g gold ‘blobs’ and I picked up a few of them. All .999 standard gold, it’s amazing just how small gold actually is at that size when it’s not pressed down into a minted bar or coin!

That's look awesome! Wouldn't mind getting my hands on a few

It's always like Christmas when I buy low premium/buyback silver (and gold) from my local bullion dealer as you don't know what it is until you walk in and open the bag. I was pleasantly surprised as I figured it would be a standard 10oz Perth Mint/ABC/Scottsdale, etc bar but it turned out to be a 10oz 1997 Kookaburra (declared mintage 7880) and since I bought it before the spike, it's currently worth more than I paid for it :)

Super suprised to find this in an OP shop and especially so to pay only $17 total.

That is super bargain. lol, someone must have donated it knowing someone worthy will get a bargain.
I've never found .999 in an opp shop, but or I used to visit had regular bags of .925 scrap for under spot.
